What you have to do in this situation you have to check that there is enough pressure in your oil system, your oil pump might be bad it can also be a bad lifter

My Lincoln Continental 2000 Model oil light came on engine stopped after 25 feet. would not restart even though oil full. The car started the next day, but had a rattling sound at the top of the motor

Oil light is rather important it goes out if oil pressure is good comes on if oil pressure is low when it comes on damage is expected with continued operation like wearing of main bearings and pistons and cylinders can lead to a engine rebuild

Very loud Clacking noise under valve cover ,car still runs what is it and will it blow up?

It sounds to me that your valve may have collapsed or you have a bad can bearing... Or a bad lifter...either way its a pretty bad problem.put some Lucas oil in there if nothing changes don't drive the car have a micanic look at it

Describe the noise. It sounds like you have a blown head gasket though

Dashboard symbols mean

the red lights mean that the CPU has found a fault relayed by a sensor. By the noise I would say that the CPU got it right and that you should be checking for mechanical failure of the engine from say no oil or no coolant

Where is the oil pump located on jeep liberty 2002

oil pump is in the oil pan, sounds like your problem is in the crank bearings if one crank bearing goes you will loose oil pressure causing oil light to come on.

Engine rattle noise

Have you checked your oil? Sounds like you may have run it way low, the loud metallic noise is probably metal on metal contact inside your engine, add oil and it that fixes it, count yourself lucky, if not need to take it to a shop.

Low oil pressure loud noise, added oil pressure up metal flakes

Unfortunately, the damage is done--the crankshaft bearing(s) have probably been ruined for lack of oil along with the pistons, rings, camshaft, valves, and so on. A major, major repair. Even if you fix the obvious noises, the rest of the engine will continue to haunt you. Cheapest repair is to find a replacement engine at a wrecking yard--they give a short guarantee for such parts which is long enough to reveal such things as oil burning and noises like you have now. A re-manufactured engine is the best of all choices, but quite expensive--probably over $3000. Hope this helps!

Sure sounds like the engine has a failed bearing, most likely a rod bearing, the engine will need to be pulled out and repaired or replaced depending on how much damage you have done driving it.

I bought a 96 dodge intrepid 3.5 v6 car that ran great except it was leaking oil from somewhere on the front bottom left hand side of the engine checked everything and put power steering fluid cause it was...

It sounds like the car was ran out of oil.The engine bearings and crankshaft journal are probably scarred. The noise you are hearing is more than likely a piston rod slapping around about to break loose from the crankshaft. So,yes the engine is toast...Sorry..Good Luck!!!
