They'll usually be offset just a hair, and I mean a hair. If it's a tooth off, it's wrong. Make sure the mark on the oil pump is lined up with the MARK on the gear, not the tooth. I think the mark is actually lined up with the trailing edge of the tooth.

i put timing bejt on 3 months ago had to do water pump yesterday finish and started 3 times before put together started ok and idled finish and tryed to start and will not start unless pedel to floor like vac. leak and found by dryer a plug with 5 wires and a fuse in it but not wont come out and cant find were it goes im a retired machanic what is the wires a role over switch or?
