Question about 2003 Volvo S60

Open Question

My Volvo S60 TS 2003 has developed a fault with the car alarm. I cannot pin point a specific scenario and it is intermittent. I have checked all 4 doors, boot, bonnet, Petrol flap etc. When the alrm sounds I open the door using the remote and the dash board red warning light flickers at high frequency. If I turn the ignition to position I and turn it off again the light goes off. If I lock it remotely again, the red indicator blinks once per second and for nor reason sets off the alarm again after some time. Even after one day. I now use the key to lock and unlock. Any advice in solving this will be gratefully received. Many thanks Kam

SOURCE: My Volvo S60 Fuel flap won't lock or unlock,

The pin solenoid that activates the remote locking is not receiving any electrical signal, it must have been unhooked. This solenoid is right by the filler door, inside the boot. The alarm activates on electrical differences, such as dome light, boot light or filler door electrical demand when it is activated. Hence, the alarm wont trip off if door is opened manually from the outside.

2003 S60 reset check engine light? /faulty gas cap seal, repaired

If you disconnected the negative cable battery (soft reset) and the fault code come back again, you will need using an OBD scanner reader in order to know if other fault code stay there.

Hope this helps.

Message in window is "Alarm

It says what must be done, which is to test it with a scanner for fault codes, and no it can't be disconnected, it is deeply embedded into the systems control computer for the engine and start system.

Volvo 2003 s60 sun roof do not open, fuse ok.

check your fuse in position 38 in the fuse box....this fuse is for the car's alarm system but also seems to work the sunroof, I have a problem with this fuse when its not blown the sunroof opens with no problems but when it blows the roof will not open I am not sure how they are tied in together but they are....so I would say that you have an electrical issue....do not replace the motor until you check this first
