Ther are two ways that calipers stick #1 hydraulics fluid comes from the master cylinder as the pedal is depressed once the pedal is released the fluid must return. pump pedal 3-4 times then try to loosen the bleeder screw if fluid squirts out then a hose is restricted if ok the #2 it is the caliper itself all mounting pins must move freely and the apply piston must move freely remove caliper with a C clamp compress piston if it is hard to move rebuild or replace caliper check mount ing pins they need to slide oin and out with your fingers if not clean and lube or replace mount.

The caliper is probably in good order. But rust is taking hold.Jack up the car, remove the wheel, and take off the two bolts holding onto the caliper. You can hang the caliper on the strut spring. DO NOT LET IT HANG BY THE BRAKE HOSE. Now remove the small brake pad sliders from the caliper mount and using a file remove all the rust that is underneath. In older cars when rust forms under the pad sliders it jams up the calipers making the brakes over heat. If you take off two more bolts you can clean the rust off the caliper mount at your work bench. Assembly is in reverse order and do not neglect to clean the rust off the caliper mount on the other wheel also.

SOURCE: i need instructions on how to install a tacho in a 2002 cg lancer

We had tacho installation problem with out 98 lancer with no tacho on the panel. we got a aftermarket one but when we had to wiring it up it needed a tacho signle from the ignition coil. The ignition coil is built into the distributor which made it hard. The 2002 is the same distributor setup as the 98 so you can get step by step instructions with diagrams and pictures from my page, you will see an link that says Mitsubishi Tacho installation. website is www.sureyya.biz let me know if you find it useful.

I would have a quick inspection of the brake lines, to see for a squished or bent line. If lines look good then it rilly only leaves the ABS unit (big square aloy block with lots of hoses coming out of it) unless the master brake cylinder is separated.

Have removed the caliper- cant get the rotor off

after you remove the caliper , remove the caliper holding frame, then undo the screw that holds the rotor on, and then just tap it off with a soft hammer or if replacing the rotors just hit them with a big hammer, hope this helps

Checking Manaul transmission oil level on 2001

there is a plug about 1/2 way along the side of the gearbox about 1/2 way from bottom to top undo that plug and the oil level is the bottom of that hole . put your finger in and oil should be right at that edge. it is difficult to do on the ground it is best on a hoist or a ramp or over a pit . there is no dip stick for this job .

Most cars you top up the trans fluid through the stem that the dip stick for the transmission goes into.
