Question about 1991 Lincoln Town Car
Hi, how can i turn off the check engine light for my lincoln 91 town car? thanks.
The check engine comes on when a code is sent to the computer, if you dont fix the problem for the code being sent, it will not reset... you need to have the problem fixed first... then after the problem the shop can erase the code. or you can goto any autozone, pepboys, ETC. and pick up an OBD reader, the port for it should be under the driverside dash, it is normally there and might be covered by a cap. you connect it up to the computer there and read the codes, then you can clear them, after the problems are fixed.... the obd reader is not that expensive, you can pick them up for about 30 to 50 dollars depending on what you need to do, and there are ones that are very expensive also that will do everything except drive the car for you.... but as i said do not just reset the light cause you may think it is one thing, or something you replaced or fixed, but the light comes on for more then just that, there could be 1 code, or like 10 codes... you can get the code reader )OBD2) from Ebay also.... hope this helps you out....
