Could be a timing problem, but as a first step i'd use a fuel addative that removes carbon deposits on valves, cylinder etc as may just be poor inlet/exhaust to/from engine , this is the modern ,and easier, form of doing a de-coke .give it a try, follow the instructions on the product you choose

Check the coils, there may be a bad coil. That lets moisture in it, and causes the engine to mis fire. God-Bless! Its worth a try!

Replaced spark plugs, got horrible gas mileage afterwards, check engine light came on, so mechanic said I needed a speed sensor and this was probably causing sluggish in gas pedal and bad gas mileage, now...

unless the mechanic ran the fault codes to be decisive in the diagnostics then anything he says is just guess work. The check engine light means that something is wrong with the system and the codes will reveal that . Have a pressure test done on the fuel manifold to check for pump--regulator and filter problems.

Loss of power, hesitation, bad gas mileage

Clean the MAF sensor. Could also need a tune up, plugs, wires, cap, rotor, fuel filter. Could also have a stopped up catalic converter that needs to be replaced.

2004 chevy trailblazer power loss, high rpms, low ppms

Check the timing chain. Some times the chain will shift with worn teeth and get out of synch. This will cause the engine to lose power and back fire. Sometimes with a flame through the carb. I did that one once. Easy fix if it is the problem.

Replaced plugs, had a tune up, replaced air filter but still idles high in p&n drive is at around 1000 p&n runs close to 2000. it also runs bad... shakes and if in drive and stopped for to long...

The first thing I would have checked is the TPS, ( throttle position sensor ), this is usually the cause of a high idle.

As far as running bad and fake stalling or stalling, there are 2 very common things that can cause that.

1. MAF, ( mass air flow ), sensor. If this is faulty you will have issues like, bad idle, loss of power when accelerating, poor gas mileage, fake stalling and stalling, eventually your engine will not start.

2. Oxygen sensors. Faulty oxygen sensors can cause very similar symptoms as the MAF.

I hope this helps you.

Are you sure it's bad gas causing the problem? It could be a faulty idle sensor or more than likely the coolant sensor near the thermostat housing malfunctioning. It could be sending the wrong signal to the pcm(power control module) causing the timing to be too far advanced thus causing the low speed chugging & hard starting. Good luck!

All of these inquirees need to be checked, It is very hard to help without having your car to diagnose. i need more info...
