Rebuild or replace your transmission. Don't fall for any "quick fix" stories. I've been at this professionally for over 20 years and I'm here to tell you, there is no magic cure for reverse being gone. By the way, T'Bird SC is quite the car, worked on quite a few (and driven) - nice!

SOURCE: Need a service manual for my 1990 Ford Thunderbird SC

Dont pay a penny for that manual ! Go to : www.ford.fleet.com
Click on 'Maintenance' then click on
'Owners Manuals' and fill in the questions
about your trucks make & model.
There will be a list of documents that comes up and it will tell you how to save the document.
You can also just click on the document you need, and it will come up in a new
window as a PDF. You can save it to your PC from there and print it.
I also saved my manual to my 'Favorites' bar for quick reference.
Also, if it doesn't load then you may need to get a free Abode Reader at www.adobe.com

Hope this help, I had the same problem with my Exp. Sport Trac, and having the manual solved all my problems!

SOURCE: 1990 Ford Thunderbird SC with three trouble codes

CODE 13
Trouble Code 13 indicates that the exhaust stream oxygen content sensor (O2 sensor) is not responding as expected. When cold, the sensor is 'biased' by the ECM to about 450 millivolts. Before it warms to at least 600 deg F (315 deg C) it acts as an open circuit and when the ECM reads it, it reads the 450 mV bias. The ECM expects the sensor to warm in a short period of time and begin sending its own voltages.

1994 ford thunderbird sc when i put it in gear it wont move but i can drive in reverse

If your fluid levels are OK, could sound like a problem with the Torque Converter; also dissamble and check Trans Valve Body.

Hope this helps.

2004 ford thunderbird transmission problem

What problem?

Your trans is the same as a Lincoln LS of 2003
thru 2006

The Solenoid Pressure Control Pack is a common
thing to replace, if it bangs into reverse or starts to
slip into gears

If it does that ,stop driving it & have it checked out

If your not changing the fluid every 30,000 miles on
all your vehicles, your pretty much in big trouble

Fluid breaks down from the heat & then your trans
does also

Same with the Power Steering

Our 1994 thunderbird only runs in reverse . Is that a transmission problem?

The Trans. pump works better in reverse than in forward gears so I would say that the Fluid is low or the pump needs work.

Can't shift into reverse.

There is a brake lamp switch located on the brake pedal itself, this also works as the shift lock release.

make sure you have power at the blk/pk wire from the neutral safety switch at the trans in reverse if so check for open to back up lamps. does the vehicle have keyless entry or auto day/night mirror?
