Question about Mazda MPV
Does it when it starts and doesn't stop it is a 2000 mazda mpv 2.5? 6 cyl 24 valve
Sounds like serious internal motor damage...better when taken in for diagnostic test

OK, the motor that you are referring to has lots of cooper windings and internal parts that can become misaligned during long term operations and extreme heat situations. this noise you are hearing is basically a warning sign that is trying to tell you that this motor is failing and will go out soon.

if it's a knocking sound it could be worn internal compnents ie. rod bearings. if it's a ticking sound the valves may need adjustment.
either way a mechanic will have to hear the sound to properly identify it.
