The window is detached from the regulator. You have to remove the door panel and the plastic behind it . There are 2 plastic pieces attached to the window. There should be metal clips that hold them to the arms of the regulator. It could be that a clip came off and just simply needs to be put back on or the pieces have been broken off at which point either the regulator or window will need to be replaced. Both of which can usually be found at a vehicle salvage yard or dealership

When my son closed the front passenger side door, the window fell down inside the door and we cannot get it back up. Is this the window regulator? Is it something we can fix ourselves?

Window regulator or cable, depending on what you have

You remove the inner door panel to gain access to what
broke

Wether you can fix it, depends on your own skills

Not fun ,but I would never recommend anyone but you
doing it

Not the job repair shops like & in most cases only put
broken parts back on & 4 days later it falls down again

Don't know why they have always done that, rather the just
fixing it the first time

Power window fell down

HI, The window regulator on this model is a cable driven type and if the cable breaks or becomes unwound the window can fall down into the door. Sound like its time for a new regulator. If your handy its not a real hard task. Hope this helps

Window slide fell to bottom of door

Start by taking the door panel apart, the cable window regulators are not too complex and can be purchased aftermarket. More than likely a cable is broken.

Window fell into the door

These cars have a window regulator that is made with a cable and a plastic wheel that the cable rolls around. Once it wears out you need to replace the whole regulator, it comes with new motor. Look on ebay, cheapest way to buy a new one. You can take off door panel and push window back up and wedge or vise grip so it wont fall back down.
