Given the information at hand I would say you may have picked up a defective caliper assembly. If you bought the caliper new,or it is a rebuilt I would call your supplier and explain the problem. They will probably give you another one.The caliper working properly should let go. good luck

You have most likely not gotten the "ears" on one of the brake pads on the correct side of the guides. This causes the brake pad to lock the calliper and prevent it from releasing. This will result in extremely heavy wear and damage on the brake pads and disc. Do NOT drive the car further before item
is rectified.

SOURCE: right front brake caliper freezes up on occassion

You either need to rebuild it correctly, or replace it - which is the most common thing to do. Since you probably have crud in it, you may have the other side crud up as well, so the best thing to do would be to change both. -or redo both brakes on the front end. Hope this helps, Rick

Right caliper is sticking on mitsubishi lancer 2002

The caliper is probably in good order. But rust is taking hold.Jack up the car, remove the wheel, and take off the two bolts holding onto the caliper. You can hang the caliper on the strut spring. DO NOT LET IT HANG BY THE BRAKE HOSE. Now remove the small brake pad sliders from the caliper mount and using a file remove all the rust that is underneath. In older cars when rust forms under the pad sliders it jams up the calipers making the brakes over heat. If you take off two more bolts you can clean the rust off the caliper mount at your work bench. Assembly is in reverse order and do not neglect to clean the rust off the caliper mount on the other wheel also.

I have replaced two times right front caliper on Mitsubishi lancer 2002 because they did not releasing properly discs . I still have the same problem , specially when I'm driving locally and I'm using...

I would have a quick inspection of the brake lines, to see for a squished or bent line. If lines look good then it rilly only leaves the ABS unit (big square aloy block with lots of hoses coming out of it) unless the master brake cylinder is separated.

Calipers not releasing the front rotors

Is it that both right and left front brakes are binding? Could be a metering valve, but usually it's a faulty caliper that causes the binding. Important to have this looked at. Take car in to reputable service garage for diagnosis. Brakes most important part of a vehcile= saves Lives!!!

1999 tahoe.right front brake caliper slow to release.

Besides changing the caliper did you by chance chg. the break hose going to it, there a 2-way hose fluid goes to caliper and returns thru same hose, and they have been known to cause what you have just discribed.

Right front brake drags

Replace the flex line the rubber line between the car and the caliper. The inside of flex line can collapse making the back flow to release the caliper extremely slow. You can confirm the line is the problem by doing two tests. Pump the brakes up and undo the line at the caliper and it should release the caliper. Pump them up again and then undo the flex line at the steel line going to the master cylinder this should not change anything. Let me know if your findings are different and we can go from there.
