Question about Chevrolet Malibu
The idle air control motor is dirty. Easiest way to clean is remove the throttle body and remove the idle air control motor off it. Use brake clean and clean both of them. Don't use a wire wheel on the control motor. This should take care of your problem.

check the fuel filter to see if it is getting clogged and not letting enough fuel through it. make sure you have proper fuel to throttle body so it will run properly. if this does not help much, check idle air control valve.

You probably have a large vacuum leak. With the engine running, listen under the hood for a hissing sound. Check all of the rubber lines running from the intake.
