SOURCE: Hello, I just purchased a

there is supposed to be a power constant connected to the stereo, which would allow power to continue while the car is not on. you could have a blown fuse, or the radio may not have been installed properly. the power constant lead is usually a yellow or blue wire (one or the other, i cant remember which, off the top of my head) coming out of the rear of the radio/harness, and should be connected a fuse which always gets power (usually labeled as "acc constant"), or should be connected directly to the battery.

SOURCE: smell antifreeze in my 2011 Hyundai Elantra

The only component inside the car that carries antifreeze is the heater core. I have not heard of any such problems with the year car you have. Take it to any radiator shop (or trusted repair shop) and ask them to pressurize the cooling system. If it doesn't hold pressure, you have a leak somewhere that should be apparent with pressure on the cooling system. It could be as simple as a loose clamp. If it were the heater core, you could feel the carpet where it touches the firewall. If it's wet and sweet smelling, you need a new heater core installed. Replacing the heater core requires quite a bit of disassembly and not something I would recommend for a typical backyard mechanic. Good luck.

I own a 2009 Hyundai Elantra and was told I could plug my iPod into the iPod USB port using my iPod cable (Apple's). However, neither my iPod Touch or iPod Nano work. Once connected, it just says "Reading...

I have used the Apple iPod cable with no problem in the Elantra USB port with an iPod Nano & iPod Classic. You have to change the music settings, skip songs, etc. from the iPod which is distracting while driving.

I purchased the cord made by Hyundai at the dealership, that plugs into both USB and aux port. The music titles, album info etc show up on the radio screen, and you can use the buttons on the radio to change the tunes, view artists, albums... (safer while driving!). I've seen sellers on eBay that sells the Hyundai made one (cheapest starts @ $24+ w/ s/h - link here) http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/NEW-HYUNDAI-2009-09-iPOD-INPUT-USB-AUX-AUDIO-CABLE_W0QQitemZ230379648893QQcmdZViewItemQQptZCar_Audio_Video?hash=item35a3b2777d&_trksid=p4506.m20.l1116, as well as copycat ones - I wouldn't buy a copycat one (my opinion).

Do you have a case on your iPods? I have experienced the "reading error" with the Hyundai cord on my son's iPod Classic (he has a leather case on it). It seems to do that because the plug going in to the iPod is not making full contact with the iPod because of the case. When he takes the case off and reconnects, there are no further problems.

Hope this helps, Good luck!
