Question about 1999 Mercury Mountaineer
As long as I am going 20-30mph my ac blows cool. but when I accelerate in highway it blows warm...Help
Make sure the thermostat is set to cold. just switching a/c on does not cancel the therm setting. or possibly you need to recharge your a/c system....

SOURCE: 2000 MERCURY SABLE
My 2000 Sable starts blowing hot air about every 6 months. I mean like an oven. All I do is disconnect the battery negative terminal for about 5 minutes. After I re-connect the problem is solved. This solves many problems on this car, it just needs a re-boot. It must be powered by Microsoft (ha ha). Good luck. ps my auto headlamps never did work right either. Dave.

Too many reasons why but it probably needs to go in for repair. compressors will cycle on and off if the system is under or over filled. If there is a flow restriction, a collapsed high pressure hose, clog somewhere in the system(some vehicle owners put sealant or refrigerant with sealant in it) bad idea. Good luck.

if the compressor works and your freon is charged it may be the blower flapper door....disconnect battery for 10 minutes and then re-connect to reset the electronics that control the flapper
