On the 94 models there is a rectangular service connection box near battery lift lid and jumper te to e1 then turn key on (do not start car) watch the check engine light flash the first sequence is ten series and a pause then single digits next repeat then next code and keep going and will start over.

1988 Pont. Bonn.3.8 replaced fuel pump, relay, and replaced blown fuse behind glove box still pump doesn't work. Gas gauge is pegged on full does this mean anything


Did you check proper voltage and ground at fuel pump connector before replacing anything? Check with engine cranking. The gray wire is fuel pump voltage. The black wire is ground.

Did you check the proper fuse for voltage. Use a test light to check voltage.

Did you check for applicable trouble codes? Your obd1, you should be able to check some codes, yourself, if there are any?

check fuses under the hood esp the radio then make sure you connected the jumper wire correctly sorry dont pull the radio fuse if your trying to read codes it will clear the codes once you get your codes pull the radio to clear them good luck

Where is diagnostic connector locationon 1994 toyota base pickup


The check engine light is used to blink out the trouble codes. The diagnostic connector is usually under the hood on driver's side, back near the firewall. Sometimes under the driver's dash. Use a jumper wire and connect terminals TE1 and T1. Then turn key to on, not start, and the check engine light will blink out the trouble codes. If no codes are present, the check engine light will stay on constantly. Remove jumper wire when diagnostics completed. To clear codes after repairs, disconnect the negative battery terminal for one minute, and then reconnect.

put a jumper wire between the A and B and turn key on this will display trouble codes on the dash. this only works on 1993 and older

Check engine light is on. how do i diagnose it without a scanner


in the engine compartment there is a small fuse box labeled ¨DLC¨ or ¨diagnostic¨ . Flip open the cap and on the inside of the cap is a chart of the terminals. use a paper clip or small jumper wire to jump terminals T and E1. then turn on the ignition switch to "on" but not start. The check engine light will start flashing codes. Example: two flashes, pause, three flashes = Code 23. the codes will repeat until you turn off the key or remove the jumper. Look up the codes online at a toyota forum or come back here with the codes and we'll tell you what they mean. Don't forget to remove the jumper before starting the engine.

stick a peace of wire in the connector, make sure each end is inside the connector. once you do that you may have to count the blinking light

Air bag light flashes 5 times then2 times how to reset light have tried leaving battery disconnected overnight to no avail.light started after removal of fuses to check for power to rear wipers.


CLEARING CODES (works for code 52)
1. Only intermittent codes and codes that diagnostic monitor recognizes as being repaired may be cleared from memory. To clear codes, cycle ignition OFF to ON. Observe AIR BAG warning light. AIR BAG warning light will illuminate for 4-8 seconds, and flash fault code.

(Comment) Loosely translated - If you dont have the problem fixed, this wont work. Code 52 should clear with this!

2. Locate air bag diagnostic 2-pin connector.

(Comment) This was a fun one. According to the air bag wiring diagram that I also got from Mitchell, the Airbag Diagnostic Connector is located "Right side of Instrument Panel". The only thing I found immediately to the right of the I/P (between the stereo and Instrument panel) was a black computer with 4 connectors which is NOT what I was looking for. I finally found a blog that mentioned the computer for the air bag computer was behind the right side kick panel. Sure enough....there it was. Attached to the side of the diagnostic computer was a two prong diagnostic connector.

3. Connect a jumper wire between diagnostic connector terminals. Leave jumper wire connected until diagnostic monitor tone sounds (about 5 seconds). Disconnect jumper wire. Fault code is cleared.
