Sounds like there is air leaking in somewhere. Also if the ERG valve is connected to the manifold and is getting stuck it may be the cause.

SOURCE: Alfa Romeo 147 t-spark motor control system failure car just died in the middle of the road and won't start again.

Hello
The engine and transmission in this cars drive train are fully electronically controlled by a computer called the PCM (Power Train Control Module). Whenever a problem like this occurs the computer stores a record of the problem (there are of course some exceptions to this, like the fuel pump, engine coolant teperature sensor and MAF sensor for instance) in the form of a fault code in its memory, to read these fault codes you must have the systems memory scanned with a special tool. Once the fault code(s) are read you then must perform the appropriate diagnostic testing to find and resolve the problem(s) DO NOT REPLACE ANY PARTS UNTIL THE DIAGNOSIS & TESTING IS COMPLETED.

Hi, our Alfa Romeo 166 has problem with automatic transmission. At first it started shifting only the 3rd gear, then the emergency mode came and then it stopped working at all. There was also very strange...

Repairing the automatic transmission of the Alfa Romeo requires a lot of skill and assisting tools/equipments. Since this is a highly critical mechanism it is important that the problem be checked with assisitance.
however since you have already changed on earlier you can try to open the old one to see the sections.
now check on the linkages, the notches to which each lever is selected to latch and the gears/ counter wheel gears.
The faults described seems that the governor and the gears settings must be redone. You need a perfect overhauling of the gear box as there is a possibility that gears are worn out -- the noise of a mower. may be you can swap some spares from the old one but still having changed this for a similar fault the problems might need new spares.

Where is the fuel pump located on a 1986 alfa romeo

2 pumps. Primary pump is underneath the car, roughly beneath the passenger seat, the secondary pump is inside the gas tank.

Torque to 25Nm, then tighten through a further 79 degrees. You need an angle gauge to do it properly.

1986 Alfa 90. 2.5V6. Engine cuts out while driving.

Possible worn spark plugs causing unduly high Voltage which cuts ECU to protect it from arcing feedback. This problem generally produced during acceleration. Car usually re-starts almost immediately. Replace plugs - clean leads should be a fix if these are the symtoms

Alfa 156 selespeed fault

hi, it sounds like either your clutch needs replacing or the problem could just be that the gearbox needs oil this is best checking as the gearbox can sieze then this will be expensive to replace.
What you need to do is take it into garage and they will remove a plug on the gearbox with special tool then this tells them if the oil is low as some oil should come out of this lug if not then they will top this up for you hopefully solving your problem,
Having no oil in the gearbox could strip the gears and if its got to bad then these will need replacing but this is in the most severe of cases so hopefully your problem is just that the oil needs filling up so get this done and this will hopefully solve your problem.
If you have any problem then give me a shout or if you have any questions then give me a shout then ill be glad to assist you further.
