Question about 1992 Buick LeSabre

I need the spark plug sequence for a 1995 Buick Riviera

The more detailed, the better. They are for my sister who "accidentally" pulled off the wires.

Is this the 3.8 litre V6? If so the firing sequence is 1-6-5-4-3-2. The diagram here (see link) illustrates the sequence with No 1 cylinder being nearest to the front of the vehicle. http://autorepair.about.com/library/firing_orders/bl-fo-6396.htm

I do mine from underneath, Its the easiest way! At least I think so. Just make sure you use jack stands or some heavy duty ramps.

How to change the spark plugs

You need a special spark plug socket for your socket wrench.

Put a piece of tape on each spark plug wire, marking them so you can remember where to replace them. Mixing them up is pretty awful.

For me, it's difficult to pull off the spark plug wires. I do it with pliers, rocking slightly as I pull. Sometimes I need something like a hammer handle to pry against. So far in my life only one broken clip has resulted.

Then you unscrew the plugs. Access is not too bad on the 92 Riviera.

Gap the new plugs to .060 inch. (1/16 inch would be .0625) You need some sort of gauge to do that accurately. I think it's better to err on the small side, rather than wider.

Screw in the new plugs. Tighten quite tight. Clip on the wires again. And you are ready to go.

Replacing spark plug wires on 1995 Buick Riviera

You need to drain some coolant. Loosen and disconnect water lines by the firewall- the ones in the way of your wire change. u need to get a diagram of the firing order of the engine so that those wires are correctly connected to the coil packs.

check all vacuum lines including the one behind the throttle body to make sure none of them are off and also check the coil pack and the spark plug wires to make sure you have spark and then have the timing checked

Trying to change spark plugs

??? ...the spark plug wires are under a plastic guard. The plugs are lower - follow the wires. The ones at the firewall side of the engine are hard to get to...some suggest tilting the engine to access them easier...I laid on top of the engine and got them out.
