Is pump working? ATF level? Check ATF level and if low top up. Next check the oil pressure. If getting no pressure check filter for clogging and if fine replace pump/tranny.

Have a 94 ford aerostar the trans engages all gears (** the motor dies down when it goes in gear**) but no matter how much gas I give it it does not move any ssuggestions? ???

Sounds like the filter in the transmission is clogged. Drain oil, remove pan, clean filter and then put pan back on. Fill with the correct type of ATF. Hopefully that will solve the problem.

96 caravan 3.0 , have had it two weeks now bought from a cousin who had trans rebuilt. Test drove it, everything was fine. seems the trans was starting to require a little gas to move but after you got it...

If it happens in all gears then the out put shaft is worn. If it only happens in reverse then find out from your cousin where he had it repaired from .It might be still under warranty. If not take it to a tranny repair shop sounds like oil pump in converter may be weak 0r reverse gear or its idler is worn.

1995 DODGE RAM 2500 4WD ENGAGEMENT PROBLEM!!!

You have vacumn lines the run to your transfer case and then to the vacumn motor on the front axle. you need to check the lines and connections. If vacumn is working fine, then motor on front axle is bad.

Transmission just quit.can move shifter wont engage.fluid in trans is full

there real bad on the auto matic tranmistions going out on them alot of times it is the low gear pack that goes out. the low gear pack also has reverse in it so when the trans goes out it no longer shifts right. and it will not give any warning on doing such so u need a new transmision
