Question about 2010 Chevrolet Spark 1.2
Hi, I have a Chevrolet hatchback. My car battery is just 8 months old & just recently, i got an alternator problem fixed. Now when i turn on the ignition, only the engine warning light (yellow colour) & the handbrake warning light (if on) comes up. Other warning lights i.e.battery, oil pressure etc. will not come up. Also, the car will not start. Pls help.
Sounds like a wire was not re-installed under the hood. When the alternator or battery were replaced, there are several power wires under the hood that attach to the same power terminal. Look for a RED wire with a large round connector, that is just hanging out in the open air. You need to install it back onto the post that it came off of. good luck.

Your vehicle’s computer system has self-testing capability. When the computer senses that there is a problem with some of the components it stores the correspondent trouble code(s) in its memory and lights up the Check Engine, Service Engine Soon, ABS Or TC lights to tell you that there is a problem and you should have the car diagnosed and repaired. The number of codes that can turn the light on number in the hundreds. I would take it to a service center you trust and let then come up with a solution. Sometimes a problem in one system will turn light on for other systems that communicate with it, but it doesn't mean there is a problem in all of the systems.

The code scanner that you need is called ODBII code reader with ABS, and it works in the same way as the one that you connect to the car computer module (ECU) to read codes when the check engine light comes on, but the cheap ones that you can buy from $50 do not have the ABS brake scan function.
If the problem is the ABS, then it is often a wiring to abs problem, or a defective ABS control module, a scan reading is necessary to know what the problem is.
Below few examples of Code reader with ABS:
Equus 3150 Innova ABS + Professional CanOBD2 ...
$199.00 - Amazon.com
Cp9449 Brake Scan Abs Diagnostic Tool Obd2 ...
$219.67 - eBay
Equus 3160 Innova ABS + Professional CanOBD2 ... $259.99 - Amazon.com
CAN OBDII Code Reader with Multilingual Menu $49.99 - Harbor Freight Tools

Get the codes checked. This will tell you what cylinder is causing the problem. If the wires and plugs didn`t help then you probably have a bad coil.Hope this helps.Good luck.
