Question about 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee

1 Answer

Locks, windows and mirror not working, also lights stay on.

The windows are stuck down, the locks don't work unless push lock on passenger side, all interior lights stay on (finally turned off last night), and mirrors won't adjust. Plus my AC went out last week, mechanic said its the door but i think it is mixed up in this electrical mess. Can anyone help? Do i need a new body control sensor, or just clean the battery wires?

thank you, I will try cleaning the battery wires, than look at the wires in the door boot thing. Next I guess will be a diagnosis or a new BCM.

Power windows stopped working and dome lights stay on. Power locks work only with the "clicker" but not on driver door

Look under the hood fuse no. 12 should be for power windows. Or maybe something like a bad ground wire in drivers door harness.

Beings as everything that stopped working is on the passenger side, I'd think some wiring got disconnected or broken.

Doorlocks dont work except from passenger side. mirrors dont work. windows dont work from anywhere

First, check all fuses to make sure that none are blown.

If the door lock switch works on the passenger side, then the drivers side door lock switch is probably faulty. Use a multi-meter to test the Drivers Side Door Lock Switch (Black and Pink/Light Green wires unlock the vehicle, and the Black and Pink/Yellow wires lock the vehicle)
If the switch is tested and found to be operating properly, you may have a faulty Body Security Module or Drivers Side Door Lock Actuator.

If neither of your Power Mirrors are working, you probably have a faulty Exterior Rear View Mirror Switch, Power Mirror Module, or blown Central Junction Box Fuse.

If none of your Power Windows are working, you probably have a faulty Accessory Delay Relay or a blown fuse in your Central Junction Box or a faulty Master Window Adjust Switch (all of the Power Window Switches feed through this Master Window Switch). If the Power Windows didn't stop working at the same time, you may have faulty Window Adjust Switches, or faulty Power Window Motors, this is very unlikely though. It would also be a good idea to inspect the wiring for any obvious damage.

Door chime and courtesy light (under side mirror)

You have broken wires in the flexable harness between the door and the body. Pull the rubber boot back to inspect.

You may have inadvertantly locked the passenger windows by pressing the little button to the right of the door locks (on the driver side). It's a push to lock/push again to unlock type button, so try pushing it--if it stays down, then that wasn't the problem. If it comes up, then try the window. I hope that helps
