My check engine lights on code says transaxel module can someone please tell me what that means!!!!??? I've taking the car to have it repaired and i guess there was a valve or something replaced is what he said but the proplem is still here! The shop i feel ripped me off and won't help me out! I've took it back 4 times already and each time they call me and say "okay it's fixed now" but it's not! They took the code off but engine light comes back and my car is running like ****, acts like it want to stall when i come to a stop a lot of jerking like it's stuggling it does it the worst driving 50 and over feels like engine is working way to hard. Do you know what is wrong with my car or what a transaxel module is? I can't get a straight answer from a machanic even after paying him for it! I'm affraid to take it to another one after already paying $700 dollars
REPORT THAT SHOP TO BBB. If they charged you and didnt fix it they stole your money. If a fix may not fix the car you should be told upfront.
Sounds like you will need a shop that has a scanner capable of transmission fault testing.
Most genisys and snap-on scanners have this capability.

(DTC) CODE # P0700....Transmission Control System (MIL Request) Translation: Transmission Control Module (TCM) Malfunction or Failure. P0700 Information Code The Transaxle Control Module (TCM) monitors the malfunction of sensors and actuators relating to transaxle control. If any malfunction is detected, the TCM informs the PCM by sending a signal (P0700 code). P0700 means that a code has been set in the TCM. This code is for information ONLY. If this code is present, check for transaxle codes. So basically, the P0700 code is telling you to check the TCM for a transaxle DTC. The TCM can not turn on the check engine light so it has the PCM do it.
I hope this helps....let me know if I can assist further !!
P0700 means that the TCM (transmission control module) has detected a fault in the electronic control system of the transmission and has requested the PCM (powertrain control module) to turn on the check engine light to alert u to the fact that the transmission has malfunctioned, u must now get the the TCM tested to see what particular fault code(s) u have, these codes can't be read with a generic ODB2 scanner or code reader, u need a dealer to test the TCM, the OBD2 code reader can't do that.
This code indicates an automatic transmission control problem. The presence of this code means that the transmission control module or TCM has detected a fault and relayed it to the PCM. It could be a TCM related solenoid has failed or is damaged or the TCM itself could be faulty. Best wishes.
Trans axle module controls slip between wheels.
Finding a good shop is one of the hardest parts of owning a car.
Hint if the mechanic refers to his computer as a "code reader" be suspisious.
A code reader is exactly that -- it just reads codes
A scanner can run system tests, read codes, and comunicate with cars PCM. A code reader is CHEAP my scanner was $1200 and that was a steal.
Never hesitate to get other estimates. Many shops will waive the scanning charge if you get the work done there.
thottle, cam or crank position sensor. is the engine light on, if so buy a OBDII code reader
comes with a book that tells you what codes are
costs about the same as taking it to a shop once
for a reading.
