1992 Nissan 300zx Brake lights don't work

I changed the brake light switch and checked the fuses and the brake lights still don't work

Time to get a voltmeter set it on dc volts and check your complete brake light harness for volage a good point to check is the brake switch . also make sure that your brake lights are grounded as more often than not it's the ground that is suspect. good luck

Need to check around for bad grounds,look around for loose wires.

Hi Lori,love 300zx's,got a 85 Nissan 720 4x4,Here's a link to the stoplight switch,directs current to the brake lights,could be bad.It is connected to the brake pedal,get a flashlight and a adjustable wrench and remove nut and electrical connector,when installing,make sure it is adjusted correctly.

I have a 1992 nissan 300z. My breaks lights do not work on the bottom. Checked all fuses, and everything is okay. What could be the problem?


Are you check Brake Light Switch? Generally this is located in bask side, top brake pedal; sometimes this devie need adjust. Try it.

I am having brake light problems on my 1993 300 zx, I have change all bulbs to new ones, and still does not work. I have check the fuse and it is good. What can I do now.


check and test brake light switch follow brake pedal upwards under dash and check switch is working and properly in place

My 1987 nissan 300zx brake lights are not working i got running lights but when i hit the pedal no brake lights checked all fuses wha next?


brake pedal switch see if you have power on both sides of the switch when the pedal is pressed and activates switch.

Nissan almera brake lights not working,checked fuse okay,changed bulbs still not working i don`t whats wrong.


Check the brake light switch under the dash at the brake peddle and make sure its working if it does not close when you depress the brake peddle the lights will not work You may hve to remove the lower cover for the dash to get at the switch
