SOURCE: Location of knock sensor on 1994 toyota 22vre engine

The Knock sensor on a 22re is located under the intake manifold on the engine block. to the upper left of the oil filter. With is the passenger side of the engine. I believe it is yellow in color. Not do be confused with the oil pressure sensor which is close by. The knock sensor has a larger electrical connector. Good luck it can be hard to get to.

On my 1994 Toyota V-6 3.0 Liter 4x4 Pickup. Have CEL codes 52 and 71 what should I do? Was going to just go with the Knock Sensor but after looking into it its going to be a real pain and expensive for...

with code 52 it could be the knock sensor or an O2 sensor and code 71 can have slew of problems being temp sensor, clogged vacuum lines or broken vacuum line, bad egr valve..just tons of time and money. You'd be better off taking the vehicle to a local mechanic that can do a real time scan on it while it's running, He should be able to pin point your problem. You've pulled the codes and they pointed you in the general direction but unless you're willing to spend $500 - $600 dollars just throwing parts at it to see what fixes it, you're better off letting a pro tell you what it is and pay him the $100 for the diagnostic. then fix it yourself.

Check engine light tells me knock sensor or circut ecu

On a 6 cylinder, the knock sensor is located under the intake manifold, on the inside edge of the cylinder block. You must remove the entire intake manifold assembly to access the knock sensor. If you are replacing it, it would be very advisable to replace the sensor AND the extension wire from it to the main harness. I have observed that the wire extensions become brittle over time, and they fail with regularity.
