My 2000 mazda ptotege makes a chirping noise like a cricket but constant when I reach 2000 to 2100 rpm. The noise is not evident when rpm is above 2200. The belts including the timing belt have been replaced. The alternator was replaced and the put back on, The water pump was replaced with the timing belt and tensioner.

The noise is evident when the car is moving. I can power brake the car in reverse and create the noise. The noise does not happen when the car is not in gear.

An easy way to get a good idea of where the noise is coming from is to use a short peice of wood like a broom handle , hold it to your ear and touch different places around the where the noise seems to come from. If it is in the belt area spray brake clean in small bursts at each pulley noting when the squek quiets or goes away.

Is it coming from the breaks. break pads have a small piece of metal that are meant to touch the rotor to make a noise like you are describing as to inform the owner that new breaks are needed.

Mazda protege makes a squeaking noise when I start driving?

If your Mazda Tribute's engine has a rumbling noise when you start it, this is most likely from the drive belt. You will need to replace it.

I have a cold air intake on my mazda 6 car. At the top of where the tube meets engine area there is a noise. It's not a constant noise, almost only when the car is first started. I don't know the name of...

without seeing where you are taling about im guessing it to be noise from air going past the idle ait solenoid at the throttle body, since it will be open farther when cold. if that doesnt make sense, try explaining hte noise a little better. i really dont think its anything to worry abotu if it only does it when cold.

Vibration at 2100 rpm

It is probably your Motor Mounts. They attach the engine in 4 places to the frame of the car. When the rubber wears out, it will cause excessive veibration.

Take it to your mechanic and tell him to check the motor mounts. For the front and side three mounts, it will probably run about $550 with the parts, im guessing.
