Question about 2001 Volkswagen Jetta TDI
I have a 01 jetta 2.0gas NOT diesel and only when it rains when i go to start my car it starts putting and dieng, and i cant drive it till it warms up.... would these be caused by water going in to the distribuator???? any tips?
I had the same issue with my 2001 as well. The coil packs on these cars are known to be bad and crack. To test, you can filla spray bottle with water and go somewhere dark (or at night) and spray the coil pack while the car is running. If you see sparks, you know that there is a problem with your coil pack. It's probably just cracked. If you are a penny pincher like me, you can take it off, let it dry completely out, clean the surface of it a bit, and spread on a nice layer of JB Weld (very strong, water proof epoxy you can purchase at most hardware stores, Walmart). I put a layer over the entire surface of mine to prevent cracking elsewhere in the future. It's held up now for close to 3 years with no problems!
