When adding Freon the A/C must be running and you must add to the low side of the unit (do not hook to the high side DANGER)

I have a 1997 chev cavalier with new pluges, new fuel filter, new battery, starter, new compuer chip, new brakes car will turn over but not start, how can I tell if it is the timing gear, value, and how do...

Get a compression tester, remove all the spark plugs, unplug ignition module and injectors. Now screw in tester hose to cylinder #1, attach guage and crank engine for 3 seconds. Record reading on gauge and move to next cylinder. Repeat this on all cylinders. Compression should be around 90-100 psi and should not vary more than 20% between cylinders.

I have changed the fuel pump, fuel filter and the fuel relay. Car won't start.

Have you put a pressure guage on the fuel rail? The guage should read 45-60 psi to run.Have you checked the fuses?

Air conditioner does not cool in 2000 Yukon. How do I check freon level and how to replace freon if need be

Get an r134a refrigerant add kit from Walmart or your local auto parts store.

You can even get a can of Arctic Freeze by Intermatics that has a hose and a gauge on it.

Connect the hose to the low side port. You can find this port on the 'thicker' piping that comes off of the compressor (versus the thinner piping that comes off the compressor which is the high pressure side).

Pressure should read 25 psi to 45 psi on the low pressure side when the compressor is running and the a/c is on.

Pressure should read 75 psi to 100 psi on a hot day when the car is off.

However, you'll want the a/c to be running when you add freon.

Press the button on the can to install more freon, if needed.

Jetta 2003 TDI

My mechanic in our town did a quick computer check. Car computer indicated a low level of antifreeze, he topped it up, cleared all messages off the car computer and said to watch the the heat guage for any further irregularities. I'll keep an eye on it, love the car, great mileage fun to drive.
