A short in the wiring will result in no sound no matter how many radios and amplifiers are installed.

no year stated
no audio options (1 to 5 ) stated.
not even if its OEM or aftermarket system.

but no matter, you can DIY,
go to alldata.com and see the schemitics' OEM systems. only.
and now ask those questions.

Dvd removed, now no rear sound or heat

Cut the power supply just to the dvd player and reinstall the unit. When you cut it make sure to leave enough wire before the plastic connection just in case you should need to re connect it.

My dvd player and cd player won't work. The dvd

yes , I think your are somewhat right. It is possible that your DVD has encountered some fault which issues the error. You will need to remove the player and take it out. check if the mecchanism is half stuck or if any action of the drive is mid way resulting in the mode not ccoming to the final rest. This is giving the faulty of the error. see all the link drives, the loading mechanism . use a head cleaner to wipe the optical head. if the cd does not load check on the main board for supply failure of the main drive. since the dvd is not acting you have the amp cutting off the rear/surrround. The error can be even an electronic one. check for the failure of the drive IC . failure in the sub power. Hope this helps.Good day.

How do you work the sound on the DVD player?

I have a 2005 with DVD - but do not have the wireless headphones. I use the AUX button on the front radio to switch between FM/AM/and the DVD Player. I do have headphones jacks in the roof console by the DVD player, but have never used them.

DVD player

well on mine, I have to turn off the sat. radio before the kids can watch dvd and I can only listen to radio or cd while they watching dvd. I don't even know if you are able to listen to dvd through them speakers, because it came with headsets. I know I am not big help, but I think you have to change something on the front radio. If nobody else can answer your question, than I will look tomorrow to see how I turn on my dvd player and tell you what I have to push.

Sorry
