Why doesnt my 2004 freestar doors lock anymore

If you have done all the checks above ,do them only after you check the fuse ,if fuse ok change your central locking relay .that is a common fail in most cars.only then if that does not fix it do you do the above checks you have been told by other people.

Could be a blown fuse so check the fusebox lower dash drivers side ,the fusebox lid/cover sill have a list of fuses etc

SOURCE: cruise control doesnt wok

any fluctuation on the speedometer ? could be the speed servo senser. Servo is located usually on the drivers side strut tower. Hope this helps.

SOURCE: My 2004 Freestar rear door is stuck in the closed

there is a rod that connects the solenoid to the lock assy. from inside the van you can move it with your hand or pliers and then open the hatch. you will need to clean up the lock because ther will be corrosion and then use a white grease to lube the whole thing. operate by hand a few times before you close it up. there is an access port by the lock inside the door so you dont need to take the whole panel off.

If someone else tries to open the door when you push the button it can mess it up.. i remember when i messed up my mom's car and she has the same car :) we went to ford and they fixed it somehow!

Electrical problem


Sounds like the computer is confused or fried. You might try removing the battery cable for about a minute and then putting it back on. You will probably have to reset the radio codes after doing that. If that doesn't work the unit may have to be replaced.

yes i agree that is the central doorlock controller.you can find the controller by follow the clicking sound.maybe your control box is defective,there are two mini relay inside the box 12v 5pin relay

I would check the pin that the door locks onto when it is shut. It may be loose or worn or needs some kind of adjustment.
