Question about 2004 Ford Mustang V6

Open Question

My ford mustang just started jumping/jerking when i start to accelerate to a higher speed. It does it some when i start slowing down but not as much. Anyone know what it could be?

It only has about 89,000 miles on it at the moment. No other problems, this just started yesterday.

SOURCE: Slow acceleration from stop and when driving (trying to pass)

I have the same car. So far no problems with the Transmision. I had the Trans oil change out every 60 K Sure sounds like you need to get the Transmision checked. Is the fault light on. I have invested ina fault code reader sure is worth it.
Good luck.  Vilmos

Hesitation, jerking, acts as if it's not getting fuel? Have the egr/coil checked! I had same problem, thought it might be injectors, after delving deeper into it,I found the coil was defective

SOURCE: Ford Probe Engine jumps down to 0RPM while driving

The tach suddenly falling to zero while driving is a classic symptom of the notorious distributor failure in the 1993-94 Probe GTs. There is a part in the distributor called the ignitor that is failing because they were not made to withstand the high heat conditions of the Probe GT engine compartment. Unfortunately, Ford does not sell ignitors and they charge an insane price for a new distributor.

The easiest solution is to buy a replacement disty. The problem is that many of the rebuilt distys sold by auto parts stores also have ignitors that will soon fail. There is an outfit with an eBay store called the Distributor King that sells replacement distys with upgraded ignitors. The distys they sell are manufactured by Richporter Technology and the model that works on a '93 PGT is number MZ25 ( thats the manufacturer's number, not Distributor King's). You might try checking the price on eBay then google the part number and see if you can find it at a better price elsewhere. There are also other vendors on eBay that say they sell the same identical disty for less than Distributor King. You could email them and ask who makes their distys.

If you are handy and have some time on your hands there is a way to jury rig a replacement for the ignitor for about $20. There is a detailed discussion of that here.

2000 mustang runs fine on side streets.on the highway at around 60 tractionlight comes car slows down then after picks up speed what could causeing this?

Do you have the same size tires on the rear? That will change the limited slip differential dynamics at higher speeds and tell the computer one wheel is spinning faster than the other and slow the car down when trying to engage the traction control.

Jerking accelerating

Depending on how it jerks, (your question is pretty vague) could be fuel filter starting to clog up or running out of fuel, tires are out of alignment, (if jerking side to side), clutch might be worn if a manual transmission.

All the above problems were happening to my truck, and the engine light never did come on. Finally changed the O2 sensor, and it runs like new again.

My 2006 Ford Fusion has issues. When driving, if you take your foot off the accelerator, it jerks so bad and slows down...I mean JERKS... as it slows down, then when you want to accelerate again, it sticks...

Most likely issue is your accelerator position sensor. Recommed you remove it and test with an ohmmeter. I don't have the pinout, but there are only four pins. Find the two pins that have a change in resistance when the arm is rotated. The resistance should change smoothly as you rotate the arm. If it jumps around, replace it. Cost is about $75.
