Probably the needle valve. You need to put this back in.
Or it could be the float hinge pin. Its a simple carby.

the ball bearing will be a non return valve for the accelerator pump. When the pump is moved to suck in fuel from the bowl it lifts of the seat and when the pump is pressed down the force of the fuel closes it off and the fuel is squirted in to the manifold.

How to replace the side marker/position light bulb on the driver side? I can't even get to it because i can't get the light housing off!


The Headlight Assembly is not difficult to remove but you do need to be careful NOT to pull on the Headlight Assembly and break the clips

1. Open the S60's hood and locate the pin that is behind the headlight assembly of the bulb that needs replacement. The pin has a handle on the top. Pull the pin straight out of the headlight assembly.

  • 2. Push on the back of the headlight assembly until it comes out the front of the S60. There is an electrical connection on the back of the assembly; unplug the connection.

  • 3. Press on both clamp on the assembly. The clamps are on either side. Push them in together so that the cover releases.

  • 4 Uncover the bulb by pulling on the small plastic cover that covers each bulb. Push the visible wire aside. Pull the bulb straight out.

  • 5 Push a new bulb in and push the metal wire back over it to secure the bulb in the assembly. Push the covers back on.

  • 6. Reconnect the electrical harness to the assembly and push the assembly back into place. Push the retaining pin all the way back down into place.

    The battery light turns on and then when then when i put my stick shift on neutral i turns off


    You have to get the idle adjusted right on the carburetor and at the throttle controls on the carburetor. Nissan varied the idle controls a lot from year to year. Your '85 might be pretty simple and straight forward. I might be able to help you through it. You would want the engine running with the carburetor exposed-so with the engine off, take off the air breather assembly. Yes, they are complicated little pieces to get off, but has to be entirely removed. There will be one vacuum connection to pull off from the bottom of the assembly. This is manifold vacuum, so you don't want to leave it open, will make the engine run funny-rough- close it with a golf tee, or a screw or bolt that fits in the hose end tight. Check for other vacuum lines, may be other small lines that are actually fresh air vents. If there is an electrical connector to the breather assembly, just unplug it at the engine. That would be an air temperature sensor , if so equipped. Now you can see your carburetor controls, look for an idle speed screw that you can turn in to raise the idle, raising the throttle plate raises the idle.

    The top on my 2001 9-3 convertible obly opens to the first stage.Then nothing. I also have an issue with tthe first passenger seat belt not clicking when I try to use it.

    Try this (one of many troubleshoots)

    Face the Trunk & open
    Peel back the weatherstrip on the top right corner (let it hang) of the opening
    Peel down the gray carpet material.
    Expose the top motor rod (golden colored)
    Look near the joint, and you'll find a sleeve that connects to the rod that is fixed with a pin (black ish).
    If this pin is missing and you see a small hole (about 1/8" dia), you're in luck. The fix is easy as the pin simply fell out.
    Look in the top-cover compartment boot or the trunk floor.
    Tap the pin back in with a small hammer - but note that this pin is tapered, so don't force it. If it doesn't wantto go in one way, try flippng the pin over, or try the opposite side (the taper is ever so slight).

    A tip...
    If the top bow starts to hit the erect boot lid, it's time to go back there to re-tap it in. I usually end up re-tapping it in 3-5 tmes a year. The pin wears, so R&R with a new pin would be best. Pretty cheap part at the local Saab independent shop. I wait for the bow to it the lid, so I can re-tap... it's just fun to have a interactive relationship with the inner workings of a car. ...ok, I'm just lazy to go to the shop.

    Of course you are. Try drying it up and restart. If it still doesn't start, take the air filter assembly sitting on thecarburetor . Open the carburetor. Inside it, is a float, that closes the fuel valve when the reservoir is full and open it, when the fuel goes down the level. This control the fuel flow into your engine. You can adjust this such that it is just parallel to the cover holding it. Be careful in removing the carburetor cover. This hold a small valve just above the float. Do not lost it. When everything is checked up. You can assemble the carburetor, and screw it back in place.
    Put the air filter assembly back in place. Now, that
    you are done, you can restart your car engine. Good
    working, you can do it.

    Lower Glove Box Won't Close


    I fixed this in a 2010 Rav4 by lowering the glovebox all the way and finding that the cover to the cabin air filter had fallen off and was jamming the hinge of the glove box. To lower the glove box, pull the glove box side walls inward until the lock tabs clear the sides of the opening and you can rotate it all the way down. Clear whatever is jamming the hinge and rotate the glove box back into position. Be sure the hinge is pushed all the way forward onto the corresponding pin before closing the glove box, otherwise there will be misalignment. There is also a plastic air piston on the right side of the glove box assembly that damps the movement of the glove box. Be sure the piston assembly is secured into the two corresponding locking pins (one on the glove box, the other on the glove box opening) before closing the glove box.

    99 cutlass supreme headlight bulb replacement


    Look at the top of the headlight assembly. There is a plastic panel on top of the assembly that is held in place by two plastic pins. Remove those pins by lifting the center of the pin and then pull out the pin. Remove the panel. Then you will find two small plastic levers that will lift about 1/2 inch. They do not come out but they will release two studs that secure the assembly. After the assembly is released, slide it forward to access the bulbs you need to replace. Installation is the reverse of these procedures.
