Question about 2006 Ford Focus
I had a mechanic replace my wiper linkage and now my wipers do not travel the full range, is there a way to adjust the travel range.
This should have been checked before the mechanic gave you the car back.the lack of travel indicates they put the linkage in the wrong place where it engages to the motor.take it back and have them correct this. You can do nothing unless you are handy and want to take apart yourself and play with it. good luck

SOURCE: windshield wipers
don't have to remove the dash- remove the plastic black cowl just under the wipers. The "pop" you heard is probably the clasp coming off the ball nut connected to the wiper motor. check the mounting plate for damage (usually they're good or need a little bending-needle nose pliers work best). Screw the two nuts back down after you reposition the unit. Turn on wipers to test connection, but make sure wipers are clear before testing. Replace cowl and you're back in business.

remove the wiper arm L&R using the corresponding spanner.open the cowl plastic cover by removing the screws along the sides.upon removing the cover you can access the wiper motor and linkages.disconnect the connector and bolts and take it out in one piece more easier to replace

SOURCE: The windshield wiper linkage is
Yes, I think that if you remove the cover to the wiper linkage, it will become apparent how to repair the linkage through either replacement, or by putting it back together, if a plastic joint came out of its socket.
Sometimes, too much ice can cause a plastic joint to pop out. In many cases, in my experience, it's not broken, but can be popped back together until it pops out again in inclement weather conditions.
If it is, in fact broken, then the joints can be purchased at your dealership for a nominal cost.
Good luck on this repair.
