How do you change high idle on a 1998 2.2 Chevy s10

You can't change it, it is controlled by the ECM via the Idle Air Control valve. Its a small solenoid type part that is screwed into the throttle body about mid way. It opens/closes by command to allow more or less air into the system to raise and lower the idle. If its stuck open, you will idle too high, closed is too low. I have replaced a lot of these over the years, carbon builds on them, they get hot/cold a lot, and they do fail. If you need to replace it, you likely will just install it, plug it up, then drive at 35mph or more for a few minutes to allow it to calibrate itself. Good Luck !

Rough Idling on stand still?

Most Likely you have a vacuum leak. (hole or broken Hose). For a 2011 it is probably to early for the Valve cover gaskets to be leaking, but that is a possible cause. The older the car the more likely this is the case. Can also be caused by using less than premium fuel. Don't skimp and use mid grade and definitely NOT regular. Also could be the idle control valve.

My buick is idling high what should i do

If the idle speed is VERY high (over 1000 rpm), check for broken vacuum hoses first, then check the EGR. Sometimes the EGR sensor assembly plastic becomes brittle and breaks, leaving a wide open hole into the intake.
Sadly, a common problem with these mid-90s Buicks is a cracked intake manifold. Did the car overheat recently? If so, have the intake manifold checked for a crack.

Car runs great except it has a rattle in the mid range ?

this may be detonation from incorrect air/fuel /timing combination. IT is generally lean mixture and mostly can be heard on acceleration. Run fault codes to find faulty sensor that is affecting the correct air fuel mixture.

Its idling rough

Check idle air control system (valve, hoses and wires). Check air intake and check the sensors installed in the air intake. Check vacuum for leaks.

Those listed are the most common faults causing fast idle in this type of engine.

Spark knocks when taking off from idling/starts to miss after sitting at idle

The 2 most common causes of spark knock are #1 ignition timing too high, and #2 Low octane fuel. Check your ignition timing, and try a mid grade 89 octane or 91 octane fuel, or you could use an octane booster in your fuel. Good Luck! I hope you find this to be very helpful!

Rough idle loss of power in mid to high rpm

Changed fuel filter lately? Fuel pressure tested? When was last tune-up? Check for plugged exhaust too. (catalytic converter)

My 2000 crown vics engine runs rough in park at mid throttle, and drives like i am on a bumpy road at mid throttle, replaced shocks, tires, balancing, alignment. please help

I suggest you look at or have the engine looked at, for air intake obstructions, engine mount problems, or possiblt drive shaft/u-joint problems. Those are my best guesses for your problem description. Good luck!
