SOURCE: 1998 dodge durango how to adjust brake metering block

Odds are that your brake proportioning valve is fine, you should try bleeding the brakes first starting with the farthest wheel away from the brake booster ( passenger rear ) and work your way to the nearest ( driver front). Make sure you have plenty of fluid and that your brakes are in good shape before hand.

I have a 98 dodge Durango and the brakes are horrible! when going to stop it goes almost all the way to the floor and once you stop you can feel that the brakes just seem to "release" and even when holding...

if bleeding the brakes doesn,t help then it is the vacuum buster pump which apples and holds pressure to the brake cylinders, check pad or brake shoe wear

Brake pedal almost going to the floor and fluid coming from the rear on a 2000 Durango

Sounds like you have a leak in the drum brake wheel cylinder. They happen, and more often than you would expect.

You'll see in the pictures, one is the new part and the other shows where it is on your truck.

If the cylinder went bad, you'll see brake fluid leaking, even slightly, out of the rubber boot on either side of the cylinder.

If it is a OEM system, manual reset procedure is in Owners Manual.
If AFTERMARKET with no controller-system removal and wiring

The brake system on a 2002 dodge durango has no pressure

Do you actually see brake fluid coming from the bleeders? Check for a broken brake line. If no fluid is being lost and the peddle has proper pressure, then the brake booster has failed. If their is no pressure at all, then the master cylinder has failed. Replace accordingly.

Need to replace caliper on 1199 durango

Set the E-brake and jack up the car.
Remove wheel
Locate the brake line going to the caliper and remove it from the caliper.
Remove the caliper by removing the 2 bolts behind it.
Detach the caliper and set aside.
Install new caliper and pads.
Tighten the bolts behind the caliper.
Attach the brake line.
Open fluid cap on the brake fluid reservoir
Have an assistant pump the brake peddle 3 times and hold the peddle firm
Loosen the bleeder on the caliper just long enough to allow air to escape.
Repeat this process until all air has been removed.
About every 9 pumps check the fluid level.

Number one cause is low brake fluid check and make sure brake fluid is above the minimum line if not fill it to past the minimum line with whatever the DOT specified brake fluid on the cap says

Brake light flickers while driving down the road.

Check the brake fluid. It may be just low enough to occasionally turn the light on as you hit bumps and it sloshes a little. Add a little brake fluid to the reservoir and check the brake pads all around.

My brake line broke under the drivers sear of my 99 durango does the who break line need to be replaced. All the fluid leaked out and you can hear air coming out in the front wheel

Pressure fittings can be used depending on how bad the line actually is you can cut it back far enough to where it is good and use another length of brake line with a few pressure fittings if you do not want to go all new lines however you'll still need to bleed the system brake line to that wheel as well as possibly the passenger side. Obviously you'll need Brake fluid and a few tools.

2000 durango brake problem

The pads are most likely glazed, and therefore aren't working well. Regardless of how much life they have left, replace them and your braking issues are likely to go away.
