Cars over heat for a number of reasons if its using water check all hoses and clamps for staining and leaks it stands out pretty much then replace part. If there is no leaks try reverse flushing radiator it usually gets all the dirt out, and the most common thing is buy another radiator cap because they sometimes fail last thing to do if all else failed thermostat might not be opening all the way put it in hot water and check. seaya Neil

Why did it overheat going uphill?

You are probably low on coolant. The engine has to work a little harder going uphill.

JUST OVERHAULLED MY TOYOTA VISTA SV40 4SFE, STILL OVER HEATS AND NO POWER GOING UP HILL WHY?

One possibility is that the timing is a tooth or 2 out. check that the timing is lined up OK on the crank pulley and camshaft drive pulley. Instant overheating can also be caused by a head gasket leak, so try re-tensioning the head bolts if you replaced that.

Why does my car Overheat?

Possible thermostat faulty, Thermostat automatic, stays shut, till water reaches correct temp, if it goes faulty, (ie) does not open after reaching running temp, water will not circulate, so engine overheats

My 01 Pontiac Montana is trying to overheat at high power

If your vehicle doesn't actually overheat, just getting hot, I think that's the normal behaviour for these cars. My 03 AWD behaves the same way. When driving uphill, especialy when towing, the temperature rises close to the red marking, but I have never experienced it overheating. I think that the temperature has to rise much over the normal driving temperature to activate the two electric fans.

Will the fan clutch malfunctioning cause the car to act like the thermostat is not opening, we have already replaced the thermostat

Yes, if the fan clutch is bad, the car may overheat, especially when going uphill, check for a replacement or repair the esisting one filling it back with new silicona.
