Question about 1993 Cadillac DeVille
Had new suspension put on my car and a couple days later the compressor quit working i am wanting to remove to see about rebuilding or replacing just dont know where it is at
It's on the driver's side inner fender area, just forward of the strut tower. Look near [below] the windshield washer reservoir and the emissions vapor canister. FYI, the motor probably wore out because you neglected to repair your air struts in a timely manner. Leaking air struts or air bags cause the compressor to run excessively, which wears it out. Don't bother with a used [junk yard] unit. It will be worn out too. Rebuilding is not practical. New replacement units can be found on EBay. I'm a professional mechanic. I get my air suspension parts from Suncore Industries. Good folks with good prices. See

The air compressor on mine was under the hood on the driver's side, in front of the master cylinder

arnott.com sells replacement shocks, take one of your orginal springs and go to a spring frabrication shop they should be able to fabricate a new spring for you with a 2 to 4 inch lift

I would recommend going to strutmasters.com and taking a look at the conversion kits. these convert you from the airbag to a powder coated American made steel coil spring that is guaranteed to last the life of the car. Airbags and compressors are constantly having to be replaced. Also something alot of people don't know is that theses air suspensions are not meant to be in temperatures above 90 Degrees or below 40 Degrees. That is most of the world. The temperature will cause you to replace alot of bags. and typically when your replacing a bag you are going to have to replace the compressor to because the bag had a hole or small crack in it causing the compressor to over work and it will die. I posted the link below so you can take a look http://www.strutmasters.com/lincoln-suspension-parts-s/1.htm I hope I was of some help Good Luck!!!

This is an expensive repair sometimes and you may want to replace this system with inflatable air bags that fit inside the rear coil springs and then are inflated. I think they cost about $80.00 or $120.00 depending on the car.
