I don't know what the other place did but it's almost always the idle air control valve that causes stalling and hard starting, the valve can stick due to excessive carbon deposits, it is located on the bottom of the throttle body, it has to be removed so the IAC valve can be replaced, so if the engine is running normally otherwise with no misfires then replace the IAC valve and clean the throttle body to solve this problem.

Check the timing and compression of the engine. It sounds like you either have a blown head gasket or a the timing jumped.

On My 1998 Toyota Camy when the car is on my brakes lights wont go off but if the car its off the brake light work fine why??

These Toyotas had daytime running lights. The headlights and the taillights turn on when you start the car. If you press the brake pedal, the rear lights (and the brake light in the rear window) should come on brighter.

I have never heard of the brake light staying on (The brighter filament in the two-filament bulb). Hope this helps.

1989 Toyota Camry starts but wont stay on

If the car starts each time but wont keep running it sounds like poor fuel delivery. The first thing I would check is fuel pressure and if the fuel filter needs replacing.

Check your alternator if you can get it to start and stay running. If not then you may want to consider taking it off the car and having a parts store bench test it. It's most likely that.

Have batteries checked as they are wired for high volage you should'nt try to do this unless you are trained, The voltages involved can kill you. he wires are all marked high voltage and if the system is run down lower than a certain level, it won'tgo. The owers manual has a resue feature so the car can ru in gas mode only but if any of the main relays got damaged and are staying on it'll still not run
