Use a penetrating oil, then tap with a hammer (wood in between) and leave overnight. If still stubborn heat up a little with a blow torch. Put two nuts on the stud and tighten against each other. Using the lower one then undo.

I have a 2003 Ford Ranger 3.0 and I have an exhaust manifold bolt that has broken off inside the manifold, and the evaporator coil, and other AC parts are in the way .what options do i have on this

With the exhaust manifold off. If there is some of the bolt sticking out. You'll need a torch to heat the head up, red hot around the bolt. Also a pair of needle nose vise grips to grab it with and turn it out. You'll have to heat it several times to get out. No bolt showing, you best bet it to pull the head. Drill the bolt and extract it.

Manifold bolts stripped out can't connect my exhaust wat should I do I have yamaha ttr90 needing someone to walk me through

remove the manifold and use vice grips to grad the affected studs . Apply plenty of grip on the stud and screw out . Replace with good studs using a stud installer or double lock 2 nuts on the stud to enable you to screw it in.

Gas keak at exhust manifold

remove the manifold from the engine and have it machined flat at an engineering shop . Fit new manifold gasket and tension the studs correctly in the correct order . Check the stud tensions as the innermost studs are tighter than the end studs .

How hard is it to replace the y pipe and catalytic converter.

not to bad as long as you have a set of oxygen and acetalyne torches, a sawsall with metal blade. Heat one nut at a time on the manifold and remove then go to next ! you do not want those to break or strip cause then you will have a world of pain.

I need to find the truck termostat, where is it?

The thermostat is located in the front of the intake manifold under the thermostat housing, and follow the upper radiator hose over to where it connects to the engine on the intake manifold and that will be the thermostsat housing. remove the upper radiator hose from the thermostsat housing and remove the ground wire if there is one attaced to one of the two thermostat housing studs, and then remove the two studs/bolts from the thermostat housing and then remove the thermostat from the intake manifold. Be sure to replace the thermostat correctly and here is an image to help assist you.

1994 V6/AT Isuzu Trooper- Exhaust Manifold Bolt Studs stripped at muffler pipe connection. Can they be replaced without removing the passengers side manifold? What is best manual to cover this? Bob in...

there are several stud removers on the market and several broken bolt removers as well.
The best ones are the ones that have a reversed spiral inside them and tighten down on the stripped or broken bolt / stud as they are turned to remove it.
The Sears unit I use are about 1 inch tall and can be used with a wrench or socket.
Set over the bolt / stud , tap lightly as you slowly turn the tool with a small hammer to start it on the bolt, as soon as it catches switch to a wrench and remove as you would a regular bolt.

Broken manifold bolts / manifold removal

Whatever it takes, but make sure you soak some penetrating oil oi wd40 on others to avoid any more being broken. Pulling the manifold is the safest and quickest way. With it out of the way, you'll have someting on the broken bots, now studs to work with. Always drill a broken stud or bolt clean through. Penetrating oil can work from both ends and a broken easy out can be driven in far enough to work arounf -Good Luck, force nothing, Tap stud and apply only stesdy even presure when extracting.

Bolts to manifold & exhaust rusted

Bolts are screwed into the manifold (actually studs)
Best thing to do is to have someone heat them with a torch and get the nuts free. If the studs are in really bad shape, you will have to remove them from manifold and replace them (usually a torch job as well) Not a job for a burns o matic...need a real torch for this one! Or, just snap them off and remove manifolds to fix them.

Exaust manifold replacement

Stud removal can be either very hard or easy. Just depends on how hard access is to the stud. You will need to center punch the broken stud. Then use a very good high speed steel drill bit to drill a pilot hole in to the stud. Tap an easy out in to the hole you drilled into the stud and hopefully it will break loose. Worse case scenario is you might have to remove the head and use a torch to heat it for removal or actually use the torch to blow it out of the hole. If you must remove the head and need to use a torch to remove the stud send the head out to a good machine shop. These shops have people there that are qualified to do this process. To much heat can damage the threads in the hole or ruin the head. Good luck. If you ahve more questions please feel free to ask.
