2003 rendezvous ran out of gas does want to run smoothly all the time sometimes hard to start runs awhile cut off put dry gas in tank same problem

First check the fuel filter. It might be partially plugged . If the fuel lines and filter are fine then you might have a weak fuel pump

Have to push gas pedal to the floor for car to start. its an 89 gt mustang with the 5.0l. after it starts it runs fine, sometimes the engine light comes on when i get on it real hard. but there are no hard...

This would indicate a problem with the automatic choke. Putting the pedal to the floor creates the same effect as the choke when starting the car.

Hard shifting

after checking oil level in auto box(top line on dipstick in "P")try this, without using any gas at all,put into drive and let car reach max speed (about 30/35).then using half gas do the same, without moving your right foot, then if safe do the same, with full the gearbox is computer controlled, you have just reset the shift pattern back to its start position. The car will now change according to your driving style,(if multi user,it will take about 50m to read your style again)
if driven hard it will change hard.......
any help??

Valve ticking problems

using cheap gas may have coated valves with carbon. should be o.k. though! but put some Seafoam from autozone $ your gas tank... drive it around hard at sometimes and see if you can blow it off.
