2003 Subaru Forester X Dash Lights out

My speedometer and tachometer dash lights are out. Only the fuel/engine temp lights are still working. I need a flashlight to see my speed at night.

My 2003 Subaru Forester X is a 5 speed manual. How do you replace these dash lights?

Dash light bulbs should not burn out. I had this problem and decided to slap the top of the dash. Voila' they came back on and have worked ever since. However, I know this is not a cure to the problem, but it got the lights working again. 2003 Subaru Forester

Subaru Forester, 2003. clock light and dome light not working (clock works, just no light at night). all other dash lights appear to function. i replaced fuse marked 12 in engine fuse panel, described...

The clock works, correct? It is just not illuminating when your headlights are turned on? If this is the case then it is most likely that you have 2 burned out bulbs. The forester clock bulb is Sylvania bulb part #2723

Hope that helps! I have a bunch of clock related info on my website www.autoclockrepair.com. Let me know if I can be of assistance.

Dash lights or navigation light do not come on when the key is on

first check that the dash light dimmer knob is not turned to very dim (far left). It is located in the dash instrument cluster slightly left of center between the tachometer and speedometer near the bottom edge.

If that seems okay, check out the No. 13 fuse in the passenger's side under dash fuse box.

If the fuse is okay, you may have problem with the driver's multiplex control unit. This unit controls lighting for multiple other lights and switch indicating lights.

My 2001 subaru forester clock works intermitently. Sometimes the numerals are very dim and other times are not there.Could this be a low voltage/bad grounding problem?

Sounds like your clock is dying. This is typically an issue with the clock itself. This is very common with many vehicles, CR-Vs, Pathfinders, 4runners, etc. The good news is that it can be repaired for a reasonable rate, check out www.autoclockrepair.com

Take a look at your dome like switch to see if it can dim the overhead light any.If it can't, I would start there. If that checks out, then check all connecters going to the instrument panel to see if any of them are loose.
