SOURCE: I was going to replace

Some cars/trucks have the hub mounted with screws/bolts. You will have to remove them to get the hub off. You may need a rubber mallet to beat on the hub a little to get it to come off past the groove the brake pads may have made in the hub. After you get the hub off, take a picture of the brake components so you will know where everything goes once you start removing parts. Once you remove the springs, stuff will shift around and fall out on you so be careful and try to notice where everything goes as it is removed. If you run into problems during reassembly, you can always remove the hub on the other side to get pointers on where everything should go. Good luck.

SOURCE: looking for a 1996 chevrolet camaro rear end complete assembly axle

Try this Website for pricing. Car-parts.com is a multi-list for Salvage yards. They have complete contact info and prices, sometimes mileage, and sometimes grade the parts for quality.

They ship to you or you can go to them. They often show a photo of the actual part you will get. You just put in a FREE parts request and their members Email the results to the Website and the Website displays it.

I hope this helps you. You can usually read the Axle tab or your info is on the doorjam and include this for the correct gear ratio.

How do I replace the rear axle assembly in a 2000 Mercury Grand Marquis?

If you have air suspension, turn it off from the trunk. Put car on hoist and support rear axle. Make sure you support the axel well so the coil springs do not injure you when you remove the shocks and etc. Remove brake lines from brakes. Remove emergency brake cable from brakes. Remove sway bar link bolts to frame. Remove the bolts that hold axle to rear control arms. Remove rear shocks. ( these are a real pain ) Axle assembly can now be removed.

How too remove rear axel horsehoe clips too remove axel?

In order to remove the axle, you need to go in through the rear pumpkin. Take the back plate off the rear pumpkin, then you will see where your axle comes in through the sides. Go back to the outer end of the axle, (where the tire goes) and push inward on the axle. It shouls move in about 1/2" or so, just enough to remove the clip. The clip should fall out easily if it is turned in the 'down' position. Then you will need to remove the pins that run through the axles themselvs, and the axles should pull right out to the sides.

85 cj7 rear axle removal

Do you have bolt in axels? or are they held in with C- clips? If its bolt in axels you need to remove the bolts, and you may need an axel puller to get them out. If its got C- clips rear cover on rearend has to come off, and pin has to be removed to get C- clip out to get axel out.
