1998 Mustang manual 3.8 won't start

MY car will not start. It did yesterday, but this morning I went out to drive it, but the engine cranked, but would not turn over. Any suggestions would help. Thanks

They have a security system that shuts off the fuel pump,(anti theft device) that can be triggered if you put the key in wrong

check in the back left side of the trunk under the carpet for the fuel shut off first before you put in a new pump

Mine is doing the same thing.. Long crank time when cold mainly to start.. Seem fine warm for a while then it starts having trouble warm as well. Almost ran my battery down starting it today. Called my guru and she said it's the fuel pump. 2hr labor and 80 part. Tank might need removed if no accesss panel.. "She says"... She's good trust me!

Engine starts when cold but won't restart when half warmed up

It's probably still a problem with the ignition control module/coil, with a circuit in or attached to it heating up as the engine warms, and then the circuit opens when stopped and it starts to cool. As soon as the engine sufficiently cools off, the circuit would revert to a good connection. I would carefully check the connectors and wiring on both sides of the module, and then possibly trying another module.

I have 04 dodge Intrepid and it won't start. I

When you say won't start do you mean it will crank over but not fire off or do you mean it doesn't' turn over at all? We refer to this a "No crank no start" or "Cranks will not start"

Why won't my car start?

Check what the battery reads while starter is running.Or you can turn on the headlights and try to start it to see if the headlights dim or go out.
If so then the battery is too weak or has bad connections at battery or at the engine ground or starter solenoid.

1998 3.8 has fire and 40 psi fuel pressure but will not syert

Hello! When you say does not start; Does the starter motor crank?...If the starter motor cranks the engine the anti-theft is clear...If such is the case, lets eliminate the Inertia Fuel Shut-off Switch...The inertia fuel shutoff switch is located on the LH side lower back panel in the luggage compartment and is manually reset...To reset the inertia fuel shutoff switch; press button on top...Send a comment...Guru...saailer

I was driving and it quit i get fuel but no fire i changed the coil and still no fire

Sounds like The crank sensor went out. Or the timing belt broke.

91 5.0 LX, ran fine yesterday but hesitated when pulling into the garage. Next morning it would crank over rapidly but won't fire. dosen't seem to be getting spark. Any ideas? Thank You.

I would check the timing belt. If it is hard to access, then pull the distributor cap or valve cover. If nothing moves as you crank it. Your belt broke.

if it shuts off while driving and will not start back up for at least 10 minutes, then it may be the crank sensor doing this. is check engine light on! if so get it scanned to find problem code. if no scanner, auto-zone will scan for free. if light is on. CPS symtoms are: car dies and won't re-start till it cools down, or won't start at all. good-day ! crank sensor timing will be out of sync. it controls timing and sends info to pcm.

Belts

You have a componant that is driven by the belt that is frozen solid and will not let the engine crank.Take the belt back of and turn all the pullys by hand to find the frozen one.

For a while my Mustang has been idling rough when I first start it in the morning. Yesterday it idled on down and died and now it won't crank at all. It threw a camshaft sensor fault, and a lean fault, I...

First I need to know for sure what you mean by "it won't crank at all" and "it never cranks". these terms are associated with a batery/starter/charging system concern. However if the engine is turning over but not starting just sputters and wheezes then there are three thing you need to know; does it have spark? Is it getting fuel and if so how much? and compression?, is it pulling in enough air (air filter)? cam tming?
