SOURCE: My Kia Sorento won't gear

TPS of Throttle Position Sensor needed adjusting and is the problem and not the gearbox.

This usually happens when the engine light comes on and the TPS is adjusted but most dealers forget (or maybe intentionally) to reset the gearbox P/TRN Fuse.

Whenever the engine light comes on the gearbox is set to run in Sick Slow mode which is why you have this problem.

Before doing anything, try pulling the P/TRN fuse for 5 mins and put it back. Then try the car.

Hope it works, i did for me.

SOURCE: 2004 KIA Sorento, heater problems

Hi. I just had the same problem after I took my 05 sorento in for service. I called the shop back and they told me the system had to be burped after the coolant level gets low( they neglected to refill my system at the dealership also). To do this you must fill the coolant tank to the proper level, park the vehicle on an incline(with the front of the vehicle being highest), and allow vehicle to heat up with the heat on. it worked for my 05.

Your problem is the TPS sensor, check with your dealer, the replacement is very cheap.

Air condition and heat know not working

You need to ensure the engine is running when you are testing the AC or heating systems, as they rely upon a compressor to work the heat pump.

If your engine is on when you are testing this and no different temp air comes out, you should ensure your AC system is properly charged with coolant and that the compressor is engaging and functioning. If not, it will need to be replaced.

How do I get the ac compressor to come on to charge the system with freon after evacuating?

It will not come on until you start adding freon. If you start the engine and turn on the a/c to max a/c, you can add refrigerant through the low side port. Once there is enough in the system, the compressor clutch will engage and allow the rest of the refrigerant to be drawn in. Hope that answers your question! :)

My ac compresser will not come on for my 2004 sorento 3.5l

The most common reason for the compressor not to come on is that it is low on refrigerant (freon). There is a pressure switch in the system that detects low freon and prevents the compressor from coming on. Someone with ac gauges needs to check freon level.

AC blower won't come on

The problem is most likely the AC compressor clutch connector. It is a one pin connector. Located under the hood, near the clutch of the AC compressor. Clean this connector, make sure there is a good connection. I had the same problem and had to fix it myself. Works fine ever since.
