Question about 2003 Jaguar S-Type
Hi..The first thing to check is how much fluid is in the tranny
and what condition is it in.If it is low or overfilled the tranny can
malfunction. If it hasn't been changed for a while have it powerflushed
and have the filter changed.Then check the alignment of your shifter
mechanism to make sure it is engaging where it is supposed to be.If
you have leaking or poor vacuum you can have erratic shifting and gear
engagement.Look at every vacuum line and not just the ones that go to
the tranny.If it isn't vacuum or fluid issues it may be the valve body or
something loose inside the tranny.
