Question about Kia Amanti

Open Question

I have 2005 KIA Amanti, I've had timing belts done and valve cover gasket and new plugs and wires. It has a hesitation when first driving till it warms up.The RPM guage goes crazy when this happensand

I took to mechanic and they said misfires on 1,3,5 and said it could be throttle, EGR senors. Now having problems starting. Does it have ground wires or senors for this ! Can you tell me what's going on.

A misfire alarm typically means the coil pack mounted above the sparkplug indicated in the misfire had gone defective.

To test it, swap the coil pack with another cylinder, and see if the misfire goes from #2 to the cylinder you put it on.

If the misfire continues to be on #2, then consider changing the sparkplugs.

I hope this helps.

SOURCE: Hesitation on acceleration

Most common problem is a failed mass airflow sensor. Remove sensor and carefully inspect the sensor for debris building up on the diode. Another possibility is the egr valve may be partially stuck open. The upper intake manifold is made of plastic. The egr gases enter the intake just behind the throttle body inside the plastic intake. It is pretty common for the hot exhaust gases to burn through the plastic and possibly cause coolant to enter combustion chambers. A restricted catalytic convertor from previous engine misfires will accelerate this due to exhaust gases having no place to escape.

Have someone check the battery connections to see if there is a loose wire or a bad ground first. Could also be a fuel problem, either filter or pump. Good luck.

I put timi belt and sparkplug on 2005 Kia amanti and ran for 5 min started runnig roughy it to coils put to new coils on it it ran 5minute and died now it won't start

Check the timing. Before I put anything back together I always start the car and make sure everything is okay. After puting the belt on you always want to rotate the crank two full revolutions to double check your timing. This is of course assuming u did the timing belt because of maintenance and not because it broke.

You need a new Valve Cover Gasket. The rubber seals around the spark plug holes on the Valve Cover are leaking. A new Valve Cover Gasket will come with the round gaskets that seal the spark plug hole.
