look on the inside of the hood and around the engine compartment for stickers... one of them should have the information you need on them.

Sounds like the keyless entry system is on the fritz. You will probably have to get a new brain for the keyless entry system.

SOURCE: I need help changing spark plugs in my 2004 ford

Hello,

You will have to remove the intake assembly to be able to remove the spark plug. You can also go about it from the ignition coil. To replace the spark plug, please follow the steps below to do so. You will be needing these instruments: Phillips screwdriver, Socket wrench, Spark plug socket, Anti-seize compound, Dielectric compound, Small screwdriver, then follow the steps:

  1. Disconnect the car's negative battery cable at a time when the engine is cool.
  2. Unscrew the individual ignition coil using a screwdriver and then remove the coil and set it aside.
  3. Pull out the spark plug wire at the plug end, grasping it by the boot and twisting it out; a special tool for this is available. Disconnect the same wire at the ignition coil.
  4. Clean out the spark plug's hole, using compressed air to blow out all dust, dirt and debris from inside.
  5. Remove the spark plug from the engine using a socket wrench with a spark plug socket; turn the plug counterclockwise to remove it.
  6. Apply a thin coat of anti-seize compound to the threads of the replacement spark plug. Make sure you get no compound on the plug's electrodes.
  7. Thread the spark plug into its hole, making sure you don't cross-thread it, and then tighten it with the wrench and spark plug socket.
  8. Coat the insides of the spark plug boots with dielectric compound; use a small screwdriver to apply the compound.
  9. Install the ignition coil and screw it into place.
  10. Repeat the above steps for each spark plug/wire that needs changing and installation.
  11. Reconnect the negative battery cable once you've installed all necessary plus and wires
Hope this helped. Thank You for using FixYa!!!

The engine on one end and the air cleaner filter box on the other. See typical picture of a Ford Taurus engine air intake hose.

What is the gurgling sound on a 98 ford taurus when in drive but idle?

It will be either air bobbles in the cooling system or air bubbles in the Transmission.
Work out where it is coming from, if it sounds like it is coming from the dash it will be air bubbles in the heater which will need to be bled or you will risk overheating the motor, If it is the Transmission then it is likely that the fluid level is low.

Vehicle surges with out pressure on pedal., revs high in neutral, replaced over heated cat. converter, that had melted hoses and whatever else, when problem first began,

Might look for a vacuum leak somewhere in the intake system. A vacuum leak can cause a lean air / fuel mixture, which will cause the engine to operate at a higher than normal temperature. In an extreme enough situation, this could lead to a cat "meltdown" as you have mentioned.

Air conditioning

You can try either end,you will not damage it.My Ford has the correct intake on the left side, hood open facing engine. When you have the correct side, you should hear it taking in the coolant. If it only stays cool for a couple of days, there is a leak somewhere.

I'm getting an intermittent "growling" noise from under the hood on my 2002 Taurus. I've been told it's the "air conditioner clutch" and that the entire compressor must be replaced. Can the clutch (onlu)...

More then likely it's going to be your a/c compr clutch hub bearing, Napa auto parts stock's this item part # 5106WCC. The growling sound is the hub bearing, where your serpentine belt ride's on.

Where is pcv valve located on 2005 taurus

It is below the egr valve close to the intake manifold below the intake air sensor, there is a tube running to it from the engine to recirculate exhaust air with fresh air, there is a clamp holding it to the air intake that you need pliers to remove, then you need to turn counter-clockwise 90 degrees to remove, do the reverse to install. to make it easier to access remove the upper intake. The pcv valve is not visible, however, you can identify it by the 3" inch long rubber hose that connects to the steel line running into the bottom of the intake. I have the part and am going to replace it soon, although Ford really makes it difficult to remove it -
pcv valve is located just under the throttle body. remove air cleaner assembly from throttle body and you will see a u shaped hose running horizontally.
