Turn steering wheel (side to side) vigorously while moving key to position to remove it. It should remove now unless you tried putting key in upside down & it will require pliers to tug and remove.

SOURCE: Ignition will not turn

we had the same issue with ours a few weeks back, i was prepared to remove the key assembly. i started disassembling the steering column and removed all the trim, and while removing all the trim and the lighted key ring from the switch, i noticed a small pin on the side of the keysitch housing, if you put your key inot the switch and try to turn it, this pin moves in and out as the key is turned, ours wouldnt budge, or was stuck. i pressed it a few times with a small screwdriver, and sprayed it with some trusty wd40, and walla. it now works fine. would probably tak you about half hour to fix if you wanted to try what i did, if not then you may need to call a locksmith. i hope this helps, although you may have a different problem than we did.

SOURCE: Unlock Instructions ignition for Chrysler 300M

This happened with my 2000 Ford Focus. To Unlock the ignition, put the car key in, and hit it gently with a hammer. The ignition tumbler will lock again when you take out the key, so have a hammer handy if you go somewhere :P.It happened to me on November 7th, the tow truck driver came, did this, and started the with no problems.

Check that the battery terminals and posts are shiny clean and tight. Have a load test done on the battery as it may be dead.

Key stuck in ignition of 1999 Chrysler circus

If you can remove the cylinder. You can clean and lubricate the the tumblers and it will work like new. There is button usually on the bottom of the cylinder. Push it and the cylinder will release.

I have a 1999 Chrysler circus it will not start and the key is stuck in the ignition checked all fuse their all good tried to jump start it all lights come on but won't start

Battery is dead, replace battery and have proper amp to ignition and should be able to start and remove key, somewhere inside column there should be a switch that you should be able to press and remove key as well.

My 1999 Chrysler circus Will not start and the key is stuck in the ignition checked all fuses they are good

Not knowing all details I'll try a guess because the key is stuck, a possibility going off that, the key cylinder has a white metal extension going into the ign switch that may have broken off preventing the switch to turn far enough to kick starter in,(turn the key dash lights go out and starter doesn't turn over) if this be the case the column would have to be partially disassembled to access.

Sounds like a ECM Problem. Take it to your local Chrysler dealer and have them test it.
