Do u mean it voluntarily opens and closes? If not, the gate is working since the engine or ignition does not have to be on.

SOURCE: Automatic liftgate won't open

The lift gate motor needs to be replaced. Preferably at the dealer ship. Its a pain to replace and most shops will do shoddy work and destroy your interior when doing it.

SOURCE: sliding door won't close. 2004 nissa quest

Mine was doing the same thing. I took it in and watched them fix it and first they steam cleaned the area under the floor where the rollers are. Then they took a spray and lubricated the rollers and the track where the rollers are. then they cleaned the brass connectors on the side of the door where the safety pins touch. I could have saved ALOT of money doing this myself. I hope this helps!

SOURCE: power window issues

Try removing the fuse to the windows and see if that resets the system. I know what your talking about of the 02 Altima, have a issue with mine using to much oil and the dealership says there nothing wrong.

Hope this helps with the window issue

SOURCE: Does the nissan quest 1999 timing belt needs to be

The Quest has a non interference engine meaning that should the belt break the engine would just die without breaking anything. Nissan recommends 105K for changing but that depends on the way the vehicle was driven (driving habits), road conditions etc. If driving on roads for e.g. that are hilly, it labors the engine more thus shortens the lifespan of the belt according to mfg.

2007 Chev Tahoe rear lift gate will not open. ive tried using key fob. And of course manually with the button under the handle on the outside of the liftgate. It seems to not be able to unlock itself.

Operation
A power open or close cycle can only be initiated from the fully closed or open positions while the vehicle is in park and the liftglass ajar switch input to the liftgate module is inactive. At any time during a power open or close cycle the operation can be reversed by pressing any of the open/close switches. The power liftgate can be switched to manual mode with the on/off switch in the overhead console and during manual operation the power latch will still operate. During power liftgate operation the liftgate module continuously monitors the liftgate position and load profile. The position is calculated from hall effect sensor counts and the electrical load of the gear motor is used to determine physical resistance to the liftgate. Both of these profiles must be learned before the liftgate can operate properly and relearned any time most liftgate components are serviced.

Power Latch
The latch motor is a bi-directional motor and latch or unlatch operation is the result of the direction of the motor rotation. The liftgate module controls the latch motor through the control circuits by suppling power and ground in the appropriate polarity. The motor control circuits are monitored by the liftgate module prior to activation for a high or low condition and during motor operation for an insufficient current flow condition. The ratchet, pawl, and sector switches are part of the latch motor assembly and are used by the liftgate control module to determine the state of the latch during the process of latching or unlatching. Each of the latch switch signal circuits are supplied battery voltage through a resistor and monitored within the liftgate module. The latch switches share a common low reference circuit from the liftgate module and when the switch contacts close the signal circuit goes low and the liftgate module determines the switch to be active.
The handle switch and close switch are parallel circuits and provide a single input to the liftgate control module. The handle/close switch signal circuit is supplied battery voltage through a resistor and monitored within the liftgate module. The switches share a common low reference circuit from the liftgate module and when the switch contacts close the signal circuit goes low and the liftgate module determines the switch to be active.

Do you know what DTC'S - diagnostic trouble codes are ?
DTC B153A 00: Liftgate Latch Switch Signal Circuit
DTC B153A 08: Liftgate Latch Switch Signal Circuit Signal Invalid
B153A 00
The LGM detects a fault in any of the following switch signal circuits:
• Ratchet switch
• Pawl switch
• Sector switch
B153A 08
When the LGM detects a loss of B+ voltage, an open/high resistance in the sensor signal circuit, an open/high resistance in the liftgate latch low reference circuit, or any incorrect combination of signals from the following switch inputs:
• Ratchet switch
• Pawl switch
• Sector switch
DTC B153B 02: Liftgate Open Switch Signal Circuit Short to Ground
DTC B153B 05: Liftgate Open Switch Signal Circuit Short to Short to Battery or Open

Your best bet , take it to a qualified repair shop .

How do I replace the rear license plate bulb on a 2011 Nissan quest ?

usually on most vehicles the fixture that holds the bulb pops out and you can access the bulb. If yours doesn't pop out then you will need to remove the panel on the liftgate door to get to the bulb.

I have a chevy traverse 2009. The power tailgate wont stay up on the strut. it was working fine the day before. the gate opens to the fully open position before slipping resulting in the gate closing

It's now a recall item. See below.

NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID Number: 15V415000
Component: STRUCTURE:BODY:HATCHBACK/LIFTGATE
Manufacturer: General Motors LLC
Potential Number of Units Affected: 686287

Year: 2009
Make: Chevrolet
Model: Traverse
Manufactured
from: 2008-07-06
to: 2012-02-29
Recall Date: 2015-06-30
-->
Summary:

General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain model year 2008-2012 Buick Enclave vehicles manufactured January 3, 2007, to February 29, 2012, 2009-2012 Chevrolet Traverse vehicles manufactured July 6, 2008, to February 29, 2012, 2007-2012 GMC Acadia vehicles manufactured September 15, 2006, to February 29, 2012, and 2007-2010 Saturn Outlook vehicles manufactured August 17, 2006, to March 18, 2010. The affected vehicles, equipped with the power liftgate option, have gas struts that hold the power liftgate up when open. These struts may prematurely wear and the open liftgate may suddenly fall.

If the open liftgate unexpectedly falls, it may strike a person, increasing their risk of injury.

GM will notify owners, and dealers will update the software for the power liftgate actuator motor control unit so that the motor will prevent the rapid closing of the lift gate, free of charge. Owners were mailed interim notices on August 3, 2015. Owners will receive a second notice when remedy parts become available. Owners may contact Buick customer service at 1-800-521-7300, Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020, GMC customer service at 1-800-462-8782, and Saturn customer service at 1-800-553-6000. GM's number for this recall is 15240.

I have a 2007 Suburban, and the lift gate opens up about 1/4 the way and then drops to the closed position. This happens regardless of how it's opened.

{: ) Your liftgate struts (shocks) could have gone weak. If it's a power liftgate, press the off button to disable the power liftgate function, so that you can open the liftgate manually. With a little help from you, extend the liftgate at full open position and check if it will hold itself up there as it normally should. If it starts to fall off as you catch it, that means the liftgate struts don't have enough pressure anymore to push and sustain the weight of the liftgate. Check for signs of leak on the struts, or better if you can replace it both.

Power liftgate opens on my 2005 quest but then reverses

I would say one or both of the the hydralics (one on each side of the hatch) has gone bad. You can usually find replacements at big auto parts stores or order them (EBAY or other sites) online.

Good luck!

Liftgate opens only partially on 2007 tahoe

try removing your shocks/struts for the lift gate. once removed, check to see if they fully extend in and out of the barrel. You may have bent shocks/struts. Also, check to see there is nothing preventing the lift-gate from opening such as a bolt or acorns between the spoiler and the roof...
