Try Mazda spares and check as the gears ratio's will be different for each model but the gear itself may still fit in your car. There are ratio change gear boxes from speed shops . These fit onto your gear box and the cable / sender unit fits onto it . The ratios are changed inside the little adaptor.

Speedometer gear

besides the rim size you will need the profile of the tyres to get the circumference and the diff ratio even it is what you call a standard diff.. Holden has at least 3 cog ratios that are used to correct the speedo readings but unfortunately they only cover standard tyre profile Try speed shops to see if there are and other cogs available and another suggestion is to find a speed shop with a chassis dyno that can fit the cogs and test the readings without going on the road all the time .

I have a 1979 fiat spider, I am putting 14" rims

Make sure the rims are the correct bot pattern (4 X 98) and hubcentric. As for tire size, goin from a 13 to 14 inch rim is called plus one. The key is tio maintian the same tire diameter so the gear ratio and speedometer arenlt affected.

A stock 13 take a 195SR- 13 tire, wirth the 'SR' being a 75 series tire with a diameter of 24.52 inches. The closest match in 14 inch tires is 215x60-14 with a diamter of 24.16. As close as possible match.

That would as much tire as youi wouls ever need.

My 1994 civic dx has an ex gage cluster and the speedometer is off by 10-15 mph how would I correct this and keep the gage cluster it says my tire size should be 175 70r13 but I have 185 60r14 which is the...

okay, lets go to basics...1/.175 is the width of the tyre.2/.70 is the profile(that is 70mm from the wheel rim to the road).3/.13 is the width of the wheel rim.
So,you have 185(wider tread)60 (lower profile)14"(bigger wheels).you need to fit 35 profile tyres to get close to the same rolling radius to correct the speedo, the ride will be harder and the tyres are much more expensive, alternatively fit 13" wheels/tyres.
70/13 radius is the same circumferance as 45/14(25mm thinner).
simply put,if you measure the original wheel, road to top of tyre, then measure the ones fitted you are an inch to tall or 3.1/2" more around (approximately)please leave feedback...ta
