If you have triple aaa you possibly could save some money but I think you have to belong to there premium roadside service. $175.00 seems like the norm. I lost my keys while at an amusement park couple years back and the locksmith did my 2001 mercury grand marquis for $250.00 It took him about an hour. Maybe call around and check the local locksmiths where you live and get some estimates. Maybe you can save some money that way. When you see what they have to do and all the investment that goes into the job, I think you will get a better understanding why they charge so much. Good luck

Go to the dealership(only) for a replacement FOB. You must go with your title. The car must be present at the dealership for them to release the key to you when ready (usually comes from Dallas,TX)

Mercedes Benz E320 1996 My ignition lock doesn't work, so I tried to fix it myself and I managed to disconnect the wires from little box that are attached to the lock and now I don't know what

Go to a shop specializing in electrical/ german cars before you accidentally do costly damage. sometimes those ignition locks can be changed very easily and quickly from someone with experience

Key to the car does not work even after changing battery in the key. Also the battery in the car is ok only has been replaced in the last few months. Does anyone know what my options are. Also do not have...

Chip in the key may lost contact with your module that receives info. Dealership will probably have to reprogram the key with your vehicle. Don't take long, but they charge $75+ to do the reprogram. We have a guy here that does this work and he does this for Ford, and all other major dealers. He charges $15 for spare cut key w/chip and dealer (him) charges $45 per key.

I have only one ignition key and need a spare. The dealer price for a key ranges from $85 to $175, plus $15 programming fee. Can I get an ignition key that works cheaper than that?

Go get 2 non transponder keys cut at
the hardware store for 3 bucks each.
Get a universal bypass module (key-in-a-box style)
at www.REMOTESTARTCENTRAL.com for 25.00

Then wrap the coil around the key cylinder,
secured in place with hot-glue..connect the
status input wire to chassis ground and the
positive to ignition...no more transponder
key required. No dealership will program
a key to a non matching VIN ECM.
Besides, the total cost on this is
substantially less than what a dealership
would charge.
This is what will work instead of the dealerships
profit margin, and the rest of the security will still work other then the engine immobilize. Good luck and keep this in mind to think about it.

I lost car key for my car c200

You will need to order new keys from the dealership. A locksmith may be able to make a new one, but if your key has an electronic chip in it, there is no way to copy without original because starting the car depends on that chip.

Hi, Joe here The best batteries for your vehicle is the dealership. It is the exact size and rating. You may spend a little more money but they are the best. I don't even know if they have them anywhere aftermarket.

E320 car key doesn't work

I had the same problem with my 2001 E320. Roadside assistance came to my house and said it was a problem with the key. Ordered a new key (cost about $220 from Keys European in Van Nuys, CA) and the key worked. When I went to dealer to pick up the key, I spoke to a service consultant and he said that hes seen that problem before and replacing the key wont do anything (even though it did work). He said something about a ESI (something like that) and said that parts only on that cost about $600. So first thing you should try is replacing your key. Hope I helped.
