Question about 1997 Volkswagen Jetta

1 Answer

1992 VW Jetta won't start. Just a single click sound. Battery appears to be well charged as Headlights work fine. There are two little flat posts on the starter solonoid from which the wire became disconnected. Putting the only wire that appears to go to one of the little flat posts onto either little flat posts has no effect.

2005.5 New Jetta Not Starting, Rapid Clicking Sound

Yes, that does sound like a weak battery, and given its age, should be replaced. Rapid clicking is an indication of low battery power getting to the starter..

I have a 2006 vw jetta w turbo it wont start. just clicks.got lights just will not start. it is a 6 speed manual

Do your lights dim considerably when trying to turn over? If so, then your battery may be flat.
If your headlights don't dim considerably when energising the starter motor, then it is likely the starter motor which has failed.

2012 VW Jetta TDI battery won't hold charge and car only clicks and won't start

You need to charge your battery up more. Either get a battery charger or leave the jumper cables hooked up for a longer period of time.
Your battery was probably completely dead. You might even need a new battery...they really don't like to be completely drained.
