Car battery dying

The light is telling you the battery is low on charge. What you need to do is check the alternator and see if it is putting out the correct amperage. If you go to Auto zone they can check this for you and I believe it is free. Another test you could do is start the car and pull the positive cable from the battery and if the car dies then you have a charging problem and most likely is the alternator. A couple things about the battery itself. Make sure the connections are clean and tight. If the alternator is good then maybe the battery is not taking the charge from the alternator.

My car starts only when boosted

Measure the voltage across the car battery with a volt meter with the alternator running .. It needs to read 13.4 volts or higher to charge the battery.

My 95 maxima wouldn't start one day I started by

My best guess without being able to see the car is that the battery hard wiring is faulty.

You need to check both the condition, routing and security of the battery negative and positive leads.
You also need to check the security and condition of any additional earth leads which connect the engine to the chassis/body.

Have something draining my car battery. I have a 1999 Pontiac Bonneville, and I have to get a new battery about every 18 months. I had a new alternator put in, new not used, about 20 months ago. I replaced...

If you have a drain on your battery , it would not take 18 months for the battery to go dead . What do you mean The battery gauge in the dash shows only about 1/2 power, When ? When the vehicle is running ? Not charging ! The battery gauge as you call it has nothing to do with the Battery . That's showing how much the charging system is putting .The volt's indicator is controlled by the PCM - engine computer . With the engine running should show 14.1 volts .if your only seeing 7 the charging system isn't working. The alternator is controlled by the PCM as well ! Have it check by a GM dealer .

I have a 2006 Chev Impala. Recently the radio would have low volume which I could not adjust and the next time I went to start the car , it wouldn't start. I would boost it and it ran fine for about 2...

I actually have two thoughts on this. The first thing that comes to mind is that the dealer may have sold you a defective battery. The second thing that comes to mind is that your alternator may not be charging properly. If your alternator is still charging, but charging at to lower voltage your battery will still maintain a charge but will go dead over time. I would ask your dealer to perform a load test on your charging system in order to figure out what is going wrong. I hope this helps you out.

These things happens sometimes. Disconnect your battery for 15 minutes then reconnect it. Just the ground cable is all needed to remove for this

Battery on 2007 chevy impala died last week

Take it back to the place where you bought it and have them test it. Not all 'new' batteries are perfect. Many can be defective from the factory or damaged during shipping etc.
